OK. Over the course of the day, I came to the realization that nothing can be gained by continually picking at this scab; that there are no winners in this whole mess--only losers. I vowed I would let the matter drop and move on. ...
Until reading this thread.

Yeah, I just caught that. There is something going on here, and it doesn't look too good.
First point of order: Speaking of Elwood deleting posts without any explanation, it is interesting to note that his announcement upon his return and his ruling has been deleted. It was up for maybe a couple hours. When I went back to comment on it (you can guess what my comment was going to be) I couldn't find it. And the discussion thread that had been attached to it was, instead, linked to the Techman announcement. How surreal is that? If you happened to miss the couple hours the announcement was up, you'd think that the news of a beloved poster's death had sparked a discussion on banning members. :wtf: And it took an even more interesting turn when the thread got locked up "because it was inappropriate, given the somber news we were all dealing with." (Paraphrased.)
I kept my mouth shut at that point, because I hoped that the announcement's deletion was a sign that the matter was being reconsidered, but no. It was merely a sign that the matter was being swept as quietly as possible, under the rug. :garamet:

The only justification for tolerating the rape of borgs was that borgs was, well, borgs. If Elwood is now acting with a similar lack of integrity (or at least those who act in his behalf), then we should not tolerate it.
Well, as I see it, we have about [STRIKE]three [/STRIKE] four options (ranging from simplest to most complex):
1) Swallow it and do nothing. After all, it IS his board. I support his right to make the decisions he wants to. :bergman:
2) Leave WF and come to TK.
3) Get in contact with Borgs and see if he is willing to stand up Torrentforge as a refuge.
4) Someone stand up their own "Haven" and use that as a refuge.
(Of course mixed in with options 2-4 is the possibility of using them as leverage for a coup.)
Oh, and one final point: I found it interesting (especially after my brief tenure as a mod) to see the exodus of most of the respected moderators in recent months. Even moderators that I don't always (or sometimes ever) see eye-to-eye with on politics, like Phantom and Garamet stepped aside quickly when they became liabilities. Fuck, even Crazy Lady eventually stepped aside when it was clear that she was a disruption. And she started the
board, fer chrissakes. That said, I still find it interesting that Crazy Lady is still a valued advisor to Elwood. And given that, I don't think Elwood will fire Neroon. And the only way I can see Neroon resigning is if Gul bet that he wouldn't and he resigned to spite him.
