Gotham season 1

"Why do we fall, Master Bruce? SO THAT WE CAN LEARN TO USE OUR DEAD FATHER'S EXPENSIVE WATCH AS A KNUCKLEDUSTER!"

Doesn't Barbara run an art gallery? That would surely keep her busy, but she seems to stand around waiting for Jim to call all day.

So, umm, why were there people fighting in an office again? Even by Gotham standards this plot was pretty thin.

The Bruce/Selina scenes were cute.

The Harvey Dent scenes were the typical, lazy, witless "LOOK IT'S A FAMOUS BATMAN CHARACTER" stuff as always.

Did anyone notice the extra that looked like King tut getting off the bus at arkham at the end?

TV show.

Also at the end when Barbara was in bed with the other woman, I shouted "Mendoza!" like McBain, even though I know the character is called Montoya.

Close enough to warrant the joke.

It was as the black guy gets off the bus at arkham, during the voice over, if you look behind him at other prisoners getting off the bus, one of them is a 20 to 30ish looking guy with a really square bright blonde, almost peroxide beard.

I don't know how you saw that, but if I'm looking at the right sequence, it's in the January preview where they're running down a hall from what LOOKS like off a bus and I don't see anyone like you describe. I even slowed it down to frame by frame, but it's so short it may skip exactly what I need to see. Oh well. January is a short time away!

I guess they are both civil servants, but its a bit of a stretch, might at well have busted him to road sweeper, or binman.

MORENA BACCARIN!!!! She's Dr Leslie Thompkins and also doesn't seem to be evil. I HOPE SHE GETS TO BE ON THE SHOW A LOT.

Parts of this ep were good and parts were kinda bleh.

In the cartoon Batman she was his Doctor and knew his identity.

I watched it live – it was good in that it went more in the camp direction with the goofy nurse.

Now if Barbara would just die or something, it would be a perfect show.

This episode left me a little 'flat' in a sense that it seemed like it was setting up for things to come. My husband said everyone who worked at the asylum turned into a 'baddie' in the comics.

Cool -- we'll get to see if they fix all the bugs in season 2:

‘Gotham’, ‘Empire’ & ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Renewed By Fox

Freshman Fox dramas Gotham and Empire and sophomore comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine have received early renewals for next season. Fox TV Group chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman made the announcement at the top of the network’s TCA presentation today. Veteran Bones also looks good to come back, contingent on closing new deals with stars Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz, Walden said. Sleepy Hollow, which received an early renewal last season, is still TBD, with the network executives acknowledging concerns over the series becoming overly serialized in Season 2 and efforts to “return the fun to it a little bit”.

Gotham and Empire are among the breakout new series this season, along with ABC’s How to Get Away with Murder, CBS’ Scorpion and the CW’s The Flash.

Averaging a 4.2 rating in Adults 18-49 and 10.6 million viewers, Gotham, from Warner Bros. TV, is the season’s No. 1 broadcast drama overall among Men 18-49 and Men 18-34. Its premiere drew a 6.0 among Adults 18-49 to become Fox’s highest-rated fall drama debut in 14 years.

Gotham’s performance was recently eclipsed by the flashy debut of Fox’s midseason drama Empire, which tied HTGAWM as the highest rated new series debut this season in Live+SD (3.8). The black family saga rose to a 4.0 L+SD rating in Week 2. For the series, from 20th Century TV, the renewal came only two episodes into its freshman run.

Fox spread the wealth, with the third renewal going to Universal TV for Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The series grew +17% year-to-year in its new Sunday slot. Season-to-date, the Golden Globe-winning comedy is averaging a 2.7 in 18-49.
