Hell's Kitchen!!!!

Big Dick McGee

If you don't know, now ya know
On the recommendation of Laker_Girl, I watched the premiere of Hell's Kitchen last night. Now, I'm not a big fan of reality TV; in point of fact I think it's mostly dreck that's pushing quality scripted shows from the airwaves. The only reality shows I watch with any regularity are "The Big Break" on TGC (because I love golf, even amateur golf) and "Inked" (because I'm going to Vegas on Thursday and getting tatted at H & H!). My point is, reality shows usually suck ass.

Hell's Kitchen, on the other hand, KICKS ass!! Many people have commented that Gordon Ramsay is a prick, he's foulmouthed, he's obnoxious, he's a tyrant. Nope, not even close.

Chef Ramsay just has incredibly high standards when it comes to the food being served in his restaurant. I highly respect that. I mean, if I am paying $200 for a meal, it'd better be excellent, and the service better be stellar. Ramsay just won't accept anything less than that. As a fan of fine dining, I'd seek out his restaurants.

I didn't watch the last season, but this season's contestants all seem like fuck-ups, with Heather being the sole exception. She burned her hand very badly last night, but as she was soaking it in ice she was still delegating tasks to her team. Very nice, and Ramsay praised her for that.

All in all it's looking like a very good show! I like the fact that Fox is compressing the season by showing back-to-back eps each week; with TiVO, I can zip through them in 90 minutes or so. It's popcorn summer entertainment, and it's great. Good call, LG, and THANKS!!

Yes it was quite good!

Iwas wondering though, If a person was looking for a great person to run a Billion dallor resort restaurant, would that person choose from shitty applicants?
Hell no! you'd go out and find the best person you could!

But i still liked it

^^ I wished they'd shown the application process. If these apparent losers were the best they could find, that's pretty amazing. I think maybe these people were chosen for drama more than for their culinary skills.

Heather is easily the best contestant. I guess the Yanks don't know Gordon Ramsay that well, he's one of the worlds best Chef's and has been big back in England for years.

People who think he is too harsh don't have a clue about Cheffing. They're all insane.

You have to be or you will never get anywhere. Chef Ramsay is one of only three Chef's to have a 3 Michelin star rated restaraunt. He is world class.

I've actually been to Petrus which he now runs, the food was eqsuisite.

Hells Kitchen is a good show, slightly more Amerecanized than what I'm used to in the UK series but it's funny watching Ramsay kick Yank ass all over the place. Damn, with the exception of Heather they really are an incompetant lot.

I'll chime in with more thoughts when I see the latest episodes, I've only watched the first two so far.

I agree, Heather to win.....

I love this show, I was so excited when it came back on. I love Ramsay, he's fucking awesome.

The Prison cook is aggressive enough,
And it matters if heather will be allowed to continue despite her burned hand.
That's quite a handicap. In anyother competition, she'd have to drop.

It was a nasty burn, nothing to brush off. And it's not going to heal overnight. But I hope that she can continue because from the first two episodes she is way ahead as the most capable.

Plus she can shake her ass.

I do not like Sara. She's a stupid muppet. Hopefully she will get kicked out soon.

I really don't like any of the girls.....and most of the guys. I think Heather has more leadership skills than the rest.

I saw bits of it but I was switching back and forth from this show to a fucking baseball game (Toronto Blue Jays) so I did not get to see the whole thing. When is it on again??

You are just a jealous cunt because the girls (and the guys) were better-looking females than you are. Get over it douchebag. You looks will NEVER improve and stop yapping at other bitches just because they make you look like their assholes (which would actually be an improvement). So shut the fuck up and get out of my face MandiCK.

Mondays on the American Broadcasting Company.

Is every thread I enter going to denigrate into this bullshit?

*sigh*

Gordon is a lot of fun. I've seen him in person. Couple of years back he was doing a book tour. Me and a few others sat in as he was interviewed by Michael Lee Richards (who my mother worked with). Damn, his idea of a broccoli soup was appalling! Sure, I love broccoli Gordon, but simplicity isn't always the winner. Anyways, I'm pretty sure I could outcook him on a few dishes. ;)

Apply to be on the next HK. Lord knows the shows going to need help after this season's crop of twats get thrown off.
