I know all about the visual side of females. It's a funny spin on you all. Take Mel Gibson for example. There's a total asshole, yet women about died when he did "What Women Want"
Funny, stuff like that.
I don't think I've seen Mel in a movie other than the Lethal Weapon movies where I thought much about him. As I am a twin and he has fathered lots of twins, I've mentally refused to find him attractive. Most of his leading ladies tend to wind up dead too. Still, he is a sexy older man when he cleans up, shaves, and gets out of those flannel jackets.

But, you're right about the snuggling part, I think. Then there's that "fuck the bad boys while staying friends with the boy who really loves you" kind of dichotomy. Don't quite get that either.
That is one of those things that requires a serious conversation. On one hand, there are the women that are in that situation due to low self esteem and verbal abuse. On the other hand, there are women that are playing the two opposites off of each other in a twisted game that suits her sick needs. It might be surprising to you, too, to realize that the fellow who finds himself cast as the villain quite often really thinks he is protecting the girl and the guy who is cast as the good guy really has some very selfish motives for trying to save the damsel in distress.
Have you watched those "reality" shows where the single male or female is in a house with 20 or so persons of the opposite sex from whom they are going to pick their mate? I've been watching Bret Michaels from Poison on Rock of Love. It is hilarious. These slut bags are falling all over themselves to be with this aging rocker. He's saying his girlfriend has to ride motorcross motorcycles, ride horses, shoot firearms, jump hurdles and climb around in trash dumpsters looking for his lost crap while looking hot in skimpy clothes and calling him on the phone giving him good phone sex. What has he got to offer in return? Well, he is gone alot on the road with his groupies, and he is rich and famous. He doesn't want a girlfriend. He wants a guy in drag.
Actually, he isn't such a bad person. He seems to really like and respect his friends, fans, and people in general. His reasons for eliminating a couple of women from the competition showed he does consider other people's feelings. One girl he let go because he realized she would never be anything more than sex for him. The other girl he let go because he realized she was a very sensitive and somewhat jealous person who could never handle his lifestyle. He is a big old horn dog and it is a lifestyle that has served him well for at least 20 years. Why should he change? What kind of woman could stand his lifestyle, though?
