It's only going to be a replay if it ends with the mod at fault resigning, instead of the relatively good apples leaving, which is all I see so far.

Shal isn't like that. Because of her illness/whatever, she's cooped up all day long, with nothing but a computer and EI. That doesn't bode well for her mental health.

As long as one has a handle on one's real life, I don't think either really matters. I'm online more due to health issues, but you guys don't exist when I'm not. And computers can be used for more than MBs. I do genealogy with mine and believe it or not, I have a couple of part-time paying jobs (editing) which is nice since I can't go out to work anymore.

I don't know Shal's circumstances not really being an EI habitué, but even if she blows off steam about online stuff, it probably is only a minor bit of her life.

My old man doesn't even know about TK. He barely knows about TrekBBS and I run the place. He'd probably laugh his balls off at some of the stuff that people post, but when he goes online he's playing the female version of Indiana Jones (I forget the name of the chick) type games, or doing that one game where bad guys kill everyone in Miami.

Yeah, I liked her quite a bit--the debacle was pretty frustrating, from when Drew first brought it up all the way through to when she left. I've been thinking about her more as I've been reading old threads at EI.

I don't think she's kept her journal up much, unless it's a different one.

I'm on her friend's list, but she hasn't kept it up. I liked her too for the very same reasons. She was level headed and fierce in many many ways. Plus she had a bit of the kink in her.

I think he left for a while, and then came back. That was the time frame when Drew and I talked about remarks I made here on TK.

Partly because the staff didn't act quickly enough against Ro, I think, or there wasn't enough community outrage, or something, but yeah, he left for a while, and since then he's come back at least twice. He's now in one of his 'gone' phases.

He also mentioned some real life encounter that made him feel "shunned" from a group he wanted to hang with.

You keep talking about how great a guy HF was. I know him as a bully and a thug who in the real word made one of people attending a gathering to uncomfortable to join with the rest of us. And that is the nice way of saying what happened.

I honestly don't remember doing him or anyone else a wrong like this irl.

I met him and alot of other Slipstreamers at a Tulsa convention once, but this baffles me.

Obviously I make a bigger impression than I thought, even irl.

In any case it's good to be remembered G-man.

I rather like LoP. I don't at all care for the way he's hiding from the issues here and refusing to show the balls that Gode has in this thread, but I still have some respect and liking for the guy.

Hopefully that won't change.

I know, and it's crazy too. He is so upset with me for so many reasons I doubt he'll ever talk to me again, but I still just love him to death. And no, not in the sexual way, just something about those direct no hold's barred men I admire.

He says stuff to your face. You might not like it, but if you ask him why he is angry with you, he'll tell you in no uncertain terms. I like that in people.

Course I like to *be* that way too, so I suppose also I like it because I like the privilege of speaking my mind too.

I still miss his grumpy self telling me I need to do this or that. I miss him a lot. I hope he's doing well and enjoying his family and real life.

There are a couple of people, I just admire so much that even if they were angry with me, I'd like them. Drew is one of them. Nox [Hawk] is another. Decker from TK, and even HeroicFool [yes, even you hon]. Sometimes people really do agree to disagree, but the respect [at least on my end] is still there.

And trust me, I've pissed a couple of these men off royally.

It's one of the many things I admire in you as well. It's what made Lil such a great foil for me back in the early days of the SS as well.

There's something to be said about speaking one's mind no matter the consequences and in my opinion even more to be said about doing it in such a manner as to leave no doubt in anyone's mind what you're saying. Too many people equivocate, couch their words in niceties and are just plain dishonest, if not in their words, then their intent and demeanor.


No one ever need to fear not knowing what I think of them moment to moment, and that's an attribute I admire greatly in others as well.

Almost as much as I admire the ability to get to the heart of the manner.
