There was a lot of support for the idea and Lanzman said he wasn't opposed to it. Muad Dib or someone pointed out that if he wanted to come back he needed to get in touch with Lanzman. Hood got in touch with me over here and I suggested he PM Lanzman's TK account. The WF thread just dropped off for lack of posts.

Eventually Lanzman came on to make a one line post that Hood's permaban would never be lifted.

So to recap: Wordforge has had 4 owners--Cass, Borgs, Elwood, and Lanzman.

-During Cass' reign, to my knowledge she permabanned exactly one poster: Joker.
-I'm not aware of any permabans during Borgs' reign, although he regularly threatened to ban Baba.
-At this point Nick used a stolen database backup to help Elwood strongarm Borgs into giving up the board. Elwood's first act was to lift the permaban on Joker. Then, during Elwood's reign he permabanned: Borgs, Hood, Ted, polarslam, goldeneye, CheekyMonkey, PhilR, and Starscream. On his last day he permabanned some guy apostle brought over for allegedly being a CheekyMonkey dual.
-During Lanzman's brief reign he got rid of the porn forum and will disappear for days before making even the simplest decision. (After about a week he finally unbanned apostle's friend.)

It starts to look to me like Elwood has himself a sweet deal. He's got himself a little puppet who pays for the board, deals with the headaches of running it, and takes the heat for any decisions, while Elwood stays in power behind the scenes. Of course that is just my read on the situation. :shrug:

I like it when you guys show up with your drama. Gives me something to read besides Blackfoot's gibberish.

You've all probably gone back to Wordforge by now, but if the topics here don't interest you, you can start new ones.

That is SECRET and Eliteforge can't tell us, but trust them, it was something that requires that he be permabanned.

Reading between the lines, I'm guessing it was either saying Elwood isn't really a cop and then asking that his account be locked, or he Knows SECRET Personal Information That He Will Reveal Online.

The thing that amuses me is how all these people find out all this SECRET Personal Information. I'm guessing it is freely shared via PM. So really if anyone should be banned, it is the person whose SECRET Personal Information is in danger of being revealed. Because if they'd have kept their mouth shut in the first place no one would be able to say anything. :S:
 
As for why we only come here after getting fed up with WF, it is because the flavor of this place is different and takes some getting used to, and lets face it, there just isn't the traffic here. Posts that I could make over at WF that would spark an interesting multipage discussion will get maybe one reply in 48 hours--and that reply will be a troll.

As to why we don't start our own board, that has been tried. It takes time, money, and effort to run a board, and unless you can get at least a dozen people that are going to post regularly, you just can't make it happen. I guess I could take a shot at it. I've still got a domain name, board software, and web space from the July 2007 CheekyMonkey Incident, and I've got time right now, but I really should be working on finding a job instead and truth be told, I'd rather not have the headaches of running a BBS.
 
Yeah, TK is pretty much either spam, sex, bitching about TK or a combination of all 3. There arent a lot of serious WF type threads here. But like anything else, most of us hang around here because the people we like hang around here.

After seeing him say before that Hood needed to PM him to talk about coming back it would be VERY disappointing to find out that Elwood is the person behind the perma, he might've been banhappy but I thought that he at least had the stones to come out and say "Poster X is banned because he/she did/might do Y and Z."
 
Don't listen to Friday. She's our resident old crazy lady. Sometimes her disjointed ramblings have some bearing in reality, but they're not really worth paying attention to.
 
The word that has been given it that it involves some serious incident involving one or more peoples personal information, and that to tell what happened would be a breach of their confidence.

I don't know any more than that official word, if we want more information on exactly what Hood did we will need to get it from Hood himself.

Happily, I've created a thread for just this purpose. :yes: With this thread we will be able to get not only Hood unbanned, but CheekyMonkey and goldeneye. And if Ted has an account here, he can come back too. :cool:
