Paul Oktopus

Paul the Octopus is a common octopus who lives in the Sea Life public aquarium in Oberhausen, Germany. Paul, who is sometimes called a "psychic octopus" or "oracle octopus," is famous for his ability to correctly predict the winner of matches in which the German national soccer team is playing 9 out of 10 times.

Octopus Paul picks Spain's box on Tuesday to indicate a Spanish victory in their World Cup semifinal match with Germany in South Africa on Wednesday. The famous Octopus in the SeaLife Aquarium in Oberhausen, Germany, has correctly picked the winner in all of Germany's previous games in the 2010 World Cup so far, including its loss to Serbia. Sea Life Aquarium's spokesman Daniel Fey said Tuesday that the Octopus chose a mussel from a glass tank marked with a Spanish flag this time, ignoring the tank marked with the German colors
