Yup.

We were in Basic training at Ft. Benning together... for a while.

Third week in, we started training with M16A2s at the Morgan ranges. We stood in foxholes and fired only when told to fire. The drills had these pingpong paddles... red on one side and green on the other... to signal the range master tower when their section was ready to fire.

This one drill loved to bang you on top of your helmet with the paddle's edge when you fucked up. Well... he did that to Cramm one too many times, and Cramm swung his weapon around on him. Buttholes clinched. This was going on right next to my foxhole, and I really was prepared to turn and fire on him if he cut loose (turned out that would have been exactly the wrong thing to do). The drill backed off of him, and Cramm then emptied his weapon downrange. The range personnel were waiting on him when he finished.

When we got back to the barracks, his locker was empty. We never saw him again.

That pic looks a lot like Cramm.
