Inhumans

Filmed in hawiiee, a Locke cameo can't be far away, unless it gets cancelled after three episodes.
 
I wish they were adapting this Lockjaw property instead.

Nope. I have seen him in others things, though. But Grandma's House was the first, where he made a big impression despite having barely any lines.
 
Medusa's hair turned me off. Inhumans have always been very similar to the X-men, and Marvel studios couldve made them the Xmen stand ins for their movie universe had they done more with it sooner. (Which I thought they were) But, a concept like this is much better suited for a movie. This looks plain, and silly.
 
Its not brilliant, its not even great, possibly not even good, but its not terrible.

I sat through 90 or so minutes of it, and I could tell what was going on, things were well lit, back stories were understandable, and it focused on several characters, almost all of which we will see again in subsequent episodes.

So its not the worst pilot I have seen all week.

Cough * discovery * cough

Hell, it even made me want to see the next episode, which is what a pilot is meant to do.

At least it didn't set up the inhumans, kill them all off but one, and then set the rest of the story with Namor the submariner.
 
Hahahaha holy shit this was such a trainwreck.

I mean I know the Inhumans have always been kind of assholes, but I don't get why we're supposed to care or be rooting for anyone in this show. All the members of the Royal Family support a clearly unequal society which has an entire underclass based entirely around what race they are and are we supposed to be sad that they're getting overthrown? Like, really? They were in charge of a terrible society! They're a really bad royal family! Fuck them, I hope they never go back to the moon.

The action scenes were horribly shot and horribly edited, there was a crazy amount of DRAMATIC SLOW MOTION in totally inappropriate places (DRAMATIC SLOW MOTION HAIR CLIPPING) and really it's amazing they tried to push this as an IMAX thing because the whole show looked so low budget everywhere that wasn't a location shot in Hawaii.

They cut off Medusa's hair, literally the only interesting thing about the character. But to be fair, that wig was terrible.

The actress playing Crystal was legitimately bad.

There was that one bit where Gordon walks into the sea for no reason and instantly gets rescued by surfers and then he just does nothing for the rest of the episode.

What the hell is this show?
 
Yeah they didn't really do a good job telling us why we should care about the royal family or why they're the good guys. Or even why they live on the moon. Maximus seems to have a good reason for overthrowing them (of course it'll turn out he doesn't care about the human slaves either.)

Crystal's acting was bad. Lockjaw was cute but they put him to sleep halfway through to save money.

Medusa without She-Hulk is wrong.

Blockbolt was a bit goofy.

Ken Leung is good and should get better stuff.

What's the point of the moon rover subplot? Why are they doing the "I don't believe your crazy theories, maverick scientist!" thing when they live in the MCU and know that Thor literally exists?
