It's time to discuss Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp turned out to be smarter than his fans. He's just using Hollywood and his fan base. He's a devious bastard. I like that about him.

You forgot to mention his soulful eyes and mischievous grin.

Do you prefer Depp with long hair, or Depp with short hair? No thinking now, just answer the first thing that comes to mind.

I gave away my copy of Donnie Brasco to a woman who never gave it back.

WOMEN!!!!1

*shakes head in disbelief*

It was a VHS copy, though. I'll just get it on DVD.

Advantage: KERB CRAWLER!

So I watched it and it was really VERY good. The one thing I dont understand at the end.

Where was Lefty going? At first I thought he was going out to meet the boss and knew he was going to get killed and vanish so he left his valuables at home and that was reinforced by the gun shot sound which started the next scene of Joe/Donnie on the firing range. But then I realized if he knew he was going to his death he probably would have worn his religious medal. So now I'm thinking he must have gone to turn himself in to snitch. Which was it? ..... please answer with [spoiler ] tags!

You mean he's squeezing the base in between strokes (of genius)?

Oooo, tell us more.

Response to mm's question. SPOILERS!

That's an interesting question/observation, mm, but I think Lefty removed all his identifying paraphernalia to make it harder to be traced back to him, and since the goombahs would make certain to get rid of all that stuff anyway, he figured it'd be best to just leave it with his wife. You can't take it with you.

Ok... but.... SPOILERS!

Lets examine some clues. Several things stick out as "visuals".
When we first see Lefty watching his nature film, we see the cheetas shredding their prey. But at the end (after the visit at mob-quarters from the FBI inviting anyone to come in and talk) Lefty is watching his nature film and we see Hyenas chewing on cheetas and the narator is saying that sometimes Hyneas will overpower the adult cheetas and eat their young. Now that was put in for a reason, I see it as the Hyenas=FBI and Lefty is thinking himself as a cub and the Hyenas are closing in.

Second. Notice how Lefty is dressed when he leaves that night. Light colored suit and Light trench coat. Remember how the gangsters dressed when they went out at night? Dark clothing and dark leather jackets. Remember how the FBI was dressed in the previous scene? Light Trench coats.

Also... The fact that Lefty put his car keys in the drawer along with his wallet and cash tells us that someone was coming to pick him up. Gangsters who were going to distance themselves from his dissapearance probably wouldnt pick him up at his door. And if he left his cash, he wasn't taking a taxi.

But to me the most telling piece of evidence is him kissing his religious medal and leaving it behind. Persons of that nationality are far more superstitious than your average Catholic and no matter what happened to his stuff after he died, I can't imagine Lefty going to his death without that medal.

He would, however, know it wasn't allowed in prison.

I mean his intellect is orders of magnitude above that of his average fan. It's funny to me. I never thought he would return to America. But he did. Smart man...as soon as his kids are of college-age however he will high-tail it back to Paris for good.

Am I the only one that considers the smoking to be a huge detraction with Johnny?

I consider it from time to time, but then I look at him again, and notice the drool from my chin, and decide, "EH, I'LL JUST KEEP SOME ALTOIDS HANDY."
