The best thing Gracie ever did was when she was pregnant with China, and recorded both "Sunfighter" with Kantner and "Baron von Tollbooth and the Chrome Nun" which was a Starship recording, but really the very last Airplane album.

Saw Jorma K at this little church in Burlington a few weeks ago. He is wonderful, did a four hour acoustic retrospective of his career. Funny, I never liked Tuna very much.
 
I'm not very familiar with Tuna yet, but Jorma never seems to get much recognition when people compile their lists of greatest guitarists - I think he's amazing

Hot Tuna was okay. Remember Gracie's solo album Man Hole'? In those days they were going to name China, "God".
 
I saw Starship/Airplane in 1991, sans Grace, and during one of the breaks between songs, Jack Casady corrected Paul Kantner on a political issue.

Paul was slightly irritated.

I just bought the 'Volunteers' reissue album, which has 5 unreleased live tracks added to it. - pretty awesome!

wooden ships is still incredible...

and something I hadn't noticed about 'we can be together' - Grace sings 'up against the wall Motherfucker' - the first ever use of the f-word, uncensored, on a record - LOL, only the airplane could get away with that...
