I'm going to offer one perspective, then I'm going to go away. Say it's just after 9/11. Say you, freely, walked into a police station and said you were a terrorist, and you weren't one. What do you think is going to happen? Some jokes are funny, some jokes are going to get you in trouble right away.

That's an awesome way to put it all back in perspective.

First, your legal analogy doesn't fit, and the board admins have repeatedly said membership at EI isn't a legal process, it's a perk.

But following your line of reasoning: the police won't automatically lock you up and throw away the key. They'll question you... ask you what you've done, and if they're convinced you're full of shit, they'll maybe charge you for wasting the police's time, and then turn you loose or maybe have you sent for a psych eval.
