Yes Louis is on again tonight and I'm starting a new thread rather than bumping last week's because talking about transgender kids in a thread about mental illness would be problematic!
 
This must be Louis' most difficult watch so far. That might sound harsh when he's interviewed everyone from murderous paedophiles to white supremacists, but at least with those people you were pretty conclusive in how you regarded them. With these kids and their parents I just couldn't decide how I felt. On the one hand the parents were wonderfully supportive, but especially in Camille's (horrid name) case it looked as though they were being controlled by an attention seeking child, rather than one who genuinely wanted to change gender.
 
It was hard because some of the kids seemed really convincing but then you think "how does a five year old learn all those terms anyway?" and with at least one it almost looked like the parents were pushing them to be transgender. Like I think it was the 14 year old girl who I thought sounded kind of unsure but they were seemingly telling her "everything will be fine once you transition!" Or maybe I was watching it wrong. And the one dad who wouldn't accept his son as a girl seemed harsh at first but then later the boy was saying "I'm into Japan now" and it in that case at least it was like being transexual had been a phase like being "into Japan" is. But then you saw the older guy who was born female and had known from a young age that he was obviously in the wrong body. So yeah it's complciated!
 
Maybe if people just let their kids wear whatever clothes they want and play with the toys they want and not worry about transitioning until they're older all this stuff wouldn't be so complicated? I DON'T KNOW.
