Welcome back to the Emerald City ComiCon, the premier comic book and pop culture convention of the Pacific Northwest! On April 4th and 5th, 2009 we will be presenting our 7th annual show which will be bigger and better than last year's triumphant debut at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center.

In fact, we've already outgrown the space we used for last year's show, so we are expanding our show floor by an extra 15,000 square feet! This means we will now by holding the show in the larger event hall across the skybridge on the same floor of the convention center, just on the other side.

This move will allow us to bring you even more of what you've come to expect from the Emerald City ComiCon - great artists, exhibitors, dealers and much, much more!

We already have a stellar list of guests lined up for next year, with many more to come! We have some fan favorites returning to our show this year, such as Frank Cho, Stuart Immonen, Adam Hughes, Steve Niles and Joe Linsner! Plus, we've got a few new names to our roster of creators - Humberto Ramos, Barry Kitson, Darwyn Cooke, Mark Brooks, Joe Casey, Chirstos N. Gage, Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner!

Also, for those of looking to exhibit at ECCC in 2009, we are now accepting applications for publishers, dealers, creators and more! Just head on over to the Exhibitors or Artist Alley pages to download the application.

Since our first update, we've added quite a few new guests. Making their first appearance are the writer/artist duo of the popular Tiny Titans series, ART BALTHAZAR and FRANCO.

ROB LIEFELD is a founding member of Image Comics, creator of Youngblood and he helped create Cable, Deadpool and the New Mutants for Marvel Comics.

BOB LAYTON is one of the best-known and beloved artists to have ever worked on Iron Man, while KHOI PHAM is a newcomer who has been making a name for himself lately working on Incredible Herc and Mighty Avengers.

Indy sensations ALEX ROBINSON (Too Cool To Be Forgotten), JIM MAHFOOD (Grrl Scouts, Clerks), DAVE CROSLAND (Everybody's Dead) and SCOTT MORSE (Wall*E, Magic Pickle) will all be keeping it fresh at the show.

DAVE JOHNSON creates striking covers for 100 Bullets and Punisher every month, while BRANDON PETERSON is known for illustrating such books as Ultimate Vision and Ultimate Extinction.

Returning again to the show are Uncanny X-Men artist MIKE CHOI, Elephantmen creator & writer RICHARD STARKINGS, The End League artist ERIC CANETE and Secret Invasion: Home Invasion writer IVAN BRANDON.

Speaking of Secret Invasion, GREG HORN has been creating beautiful covers to tease the entire series over the last year, in addition to his huge body of cover work for Marvel.

That's about it, keep checking back for more updates!

We're thrilled to announce a couple creators who are not only popular requests, but now first-time guests to Emerald City: MIKE MIGNOLA and BEN TEMPLESMITH!

Unless you've been living under a rock (and also not going to the theater), then you'll recognize MIKE MIGNOLA as the multiple award-winning creator of Hellboy and the B.P.R.D., concepts which have been turned in to two live-action feature films and two animated films as well. In addition, he's known for acclaimed runs on Batman and Wolverine, as well as a multitude of work in the animation field.

BEN TEMPLESMITH is best known for being the co-creator and artist of 30 Days of Night (which has also been turned in to a feature film). Multiple Eisner Award winner DAVID PETERSEN, known for his Mouse Guard series, will mark his first ECCC appearance in 2009.

Another pair of first-timers are MARK TEXEIRA, whose work can be seen on Ghost Rider, Hercules and Moon Knight, while BRIAN DENHAM has recently completed work on Iron Man: Hypervelocity and Nova, and he's currently the penciler on the new X-Files comic.

Native son TIM SALE once again returns. The prolific artist of the TV series Heroes and the upcoming Captain America: White caused quite a frenzy with his artwork created for our 2008 show. I won't even say anything about what he has in store. Yet.

Also returning are MIKE BULLOCK who writes the beloved Lions, Tigers & Bears, and ERIC S. TRAUTMANN who has written Checkmate for DC and is co-writing the upcoming Final Crisis: Resist.
