Orphan Black

Fantastic fucking episode. SHE CUT OFF HIS TAIL! Okay, good to know that Olivier and Thomas aren't on the same team. I suspect Thomas was part of the team in the beginning or something, but has found religion, or was always religious but only recently decided how against his beliefs this all is. It couldn't have been too recent, though. He's had plenty of time to warp the angry angel. (her name escapes me at the moment, Helena?)

Jesus, Paul is hot. I'm glad he's all the way on Sarah's side now. Also, it was really cool to find out from Sarah's mom that she was being hidden right from the start. I will be interesting to find out about the mysterious man who brought her to the orphanage. I'M GLAD SHE HUGGED HER MOM.

My only complaint is that the Max Headroom portion of the show comes off cheesy. Olivier was much more menacing before finding out he had a fucking tail, and Dr Headroom never seems menacing. I mean it was cool when she cut his tail off, but STILL, that was silly.

The police station part of the show was really good. ALSO crazy angel dancing at the end was really good.

ALSO, I dont' know if it's Sara or Sarah, and I imagine I will interchange the name ON A WHIM.

I was glad they went back into the main plot this week, but the neocolution stuff is a bit much. What I've liked about the show so far is that it's felt really believable, but this cult feels like its from another show.

Anyway, we'll see where it goes. I do like the idea that the people responsible are a small group of rogue scientists who've decided to explore something illegal, rather than it being some giant government conspiracy or a big pharma thing.

When they first mentioned Olivier's tail I was expecting it to be a silly rumour among the followers that would be forgotten about, so I was worried when I realised it was real. But it wasn't actually too goofy and it looks like the prosthetics people drew inspiration from real cases of humans having (non-prehensile) tails.

Paul's quite sweet, but Sarah has to confront him at some point about being in love with a dead woman.

Oh and I liked the way Cosima's friend freaked out when she kissed her. You're used to seeing people undercover dealing with it no problem, so it was refreshing to see a "shit I don't think I can do this after all" type reaction.

I don't understand this sentence. I was under the impression that Paul didn't really care much for the cop clone, she was just an assignment. He fell in love with Sarah pretending to be the cop, which confused him since he couldn't figure out how she could have changed so much.

Do I have that wrong?

Yeah, I was being lazy and not explaining myself.

I know he's in love with Sarah, rather than Beth, but he still must see Beth everytime he looks at her and in some part of his mind feel like it is Beth. It just doesn't seem very healthy, and I'd expect Sarah to challenge him about at some point.

ORPHAN BLACK IS BACK. This episode was back to being super awesome. Probably because there was very little Dr Headroom involvement, and when he was on he didn't seem so fucking laughable. They managed to make him seem menacing, but it was mostly due to him not being there, but causing things to happen - like Olivier's death. I'm glad he's dead now that they sort of made him a joke with the tail thing. Paul continues to be hot.

Fucking Alison, I love her. I'm objectifying you sexually to get back at Donnie. lol

I hope the cop stuff continues to be so interesting. Maybe Sarah should bring Beth's partner in on the secret at some point (can't remember his name). Telling her mom was the right thing to do. Her mom seems like the kind of person you'd want having your back. Plus she was really sweet to Alison.

AAAAAGH, DON'T DIE KIRA. OH, yeah, I thought it was cool that Cosima's watcher didn't rat out Kira, and that she seems to be genuinely worried about Cosima's safety, even though she didn't want to be in a sexual relationship with her and had to do it anyway.

Everything you said. :D

It was another really good one and back to normality.

Allison's hilarious but in quite a believable way. Remember when we called her Soccer Bitch? Can't figure out what's going on with the her neighbour now. She seemed genuinely angry, but it's hard to tell if it's an act, or that she's not a monitor, or that she is a monitor but has a real relationship with her husband. Maybe it's the latter, and she was simply someone who lived in the neighbourhood with her husband and got recruited through blackmail when Allison moved in. She could've had debts or committed tax fraud or something.

The police stuff is really interesting, but I worry that at some point it'll make the cloning public, or at least a lot more widely known, and we'll lose this fairly small group of well detailed characters we have at the moment. But I do like that Sarah and Allison discussed going public, as, again, that felt very natural.

Helena's wackyness can be a bit much, so I liked that she showed she had a conscience by letting Kira go. CANNOT believe Kira got hit. :(

Oh and Cosima and um, is it Adrienne? FranuckGirl. Their relationship is really interesting. But it's difficult to tell where Cosima's at. She's aware that Franuck is her monitor, but she does seem very taken in by her. Leaving your monitor alone in your apartment is plain stupid.

Some people speculating Helena realises (or thinks she realises) now that she's been lied to about being the original clone since Sarah has a kid.

I think Helena has been suspicious ever since she met Sarah, because she hadn't even heard of her before.

Tatiana Maslany has been nominated for a critic's choice award. I'm sure she won't win, but it's cool ANYWAY.
