Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams

I watched season two recently and can’t wait for the next one. It’s amazing how consistent it is. I wonder how well it does in ratings since it looks so expensive but no one really seems to have heard of it.

It's on broadcast tv here, think it's on Amazon or something for you.

Ratinsg are REALLY low but I think SyFy liks having a prestige series so they renewed it (or maybe they get a lot of money from Netflix.)

This week's was the best episode of the series I thought, but they could have explained more what Paquin was feeling guilty about (I think they mentioned it at the start but I forgot by the end.)

It was pretty solid, although the "WHICH REALITY IS THE REAL ONE???" story is a bit done at this point, especially with a very obvious "OH NO SHE PICKED THE WRONG ONE!!!" ending.

Nice to see Lara Pulver again though.

She felt guilty because the British gang guy killed a bunch of her cop friends, I think? Not sure if it was a raid on the police station or an ambush, but her and the partner were the only survivors.

It was my favourite episode too. Much better written, a lot more to the point, an interesting idea and some very nice visuals. I actually agree that the ending didn’t need to be so on the nose. It could’ve just as easily ended with them both being real people who were being connected through time or something.

Or they could have introduced a third, previously unseen character (a little girl in India or something) who said "ACTUALLY THEY WERE BOTH MY DREAM."

Does anyone know if episode six is worth watching? I recorded it but can't be bothered actually watching it in case it's another waste of time like half of them have been.

Related: I found a PKD book that I really didn't like. I think it must have been when the amphetamines took over his brain. It was called "Valis" and was just shit. Thought everything by him was good but hey, too much drugs can have an affect, WHODATHUNKIT?

The last one is worth watching. It’s a very simple story which doesn’t take an hour to tell so they have lots of silent shots of people staring out of windows, staring at open doorways, staring at computer screens etc. But it’s still decent. The production design is the best yet and the silent staring acting is top notch. And it has a definitive ending.

The last one was okay, the acting was good, but like Fuddlemiff said the pacing was really slow in the middle with lots of shots of the wife walking around looking worried about stuff. They could have cut down on that and expanded on the courtroom part at the end.

Liam Cunningham has been in a lot of tv shows.

So apparently this came back and no one told me and I don't watch Channel 4 so didn't see any adverts. I could catch up...but do I want to?
