Poker Face/Knives Out

No, because that was even super earlier than the actual finish.

I almost did
I was hoping Charlie was 1 step ahead and Hasp wasn't actually dead.

It was funny how Rhea Perlamn was special guest star for the final two episodes but didn't even get one line.

I blame George Washington. That guy was so unfunny.

It seems like Lyonne doesn't want to star in the show anymore and they wanted to recast her...with Peter Dinklage. As the same character. So maybe that's why it was cancelled. I'd watch a show with Dinklage playing a human lie detector for sure, but Charli IS Lyonne and I can't see how anyone else could play her (or him as it would be.)

I'll split the threads if Poker Face gets a third season.

You can't split in Poker you are thinking of black jack.

There is seldom an opportunity for a card pun.

I'll go Gaga over a Lady(Charlie/Natasha Lyonne) if it gets a third season.

Wake Up Dead Man, A Knives Out Mystery (2025) - I liked the first Knives Out a lot, don't have any complaints with it. Glass Onion I found entertaining, but it was definitely a bit self indulgent with all the cameos and stuff. It also felt like it should have been the fifth or sixth movie in the series since it was already going to "this isn't a real mystery, it's actually stupid!" and having Benoit Blanc being the most famous person on Earth or whatever.

This one goes back to basics - no celebrities cameo'ing as themselves or looks at Benoit's personal life. It's just a good mystery with more and more layers to it (like and onion, but not made of glass!) revealed as it goes on. It is very good with a lot of satisfying reveals that don't feel cheap and some profound stuff said about the nature of faith. Daniel Craig is good fun as always and Josh O'Connor was great as what is essentially the main character (more on that in a moment!) Josh Brolin and Glenn Close give reliably strong performances and there's some good laughs.

One thing that I would identify as a weaker aspect is that it takes 45 minutes for Benoit to actually appear. It goes for so long without him that I nearly forgot what movie I was watching. I know the previous two movies had sections where it shifted to show Ana de Armas' and Janelle Monae's points of view but I don't think we ever went this long without seeing Benoit. I think maybe they could have cut this opening segment down a bit or brought him in a bit sooner. But like I said O'Connor gives a very strong performance so it's not like the opening is bad or anything. Some of the supporting charcters don't get much to do either: Cailee Spaeny and Andrew Scott get so little that they don't even funciton as red herrings as I couldn't imagine them being revealed as the killer.

But yeah it's definitely good watch it.
