Public repudiation of trolling activities

Your banning never made sense to me. I thought the virus threat made by Shadowfire should have earned him the permabanning. Yet his friends were up in arms about it and saying he didn't mean it, or his English was limited and it wasn't what he meant. When the mods/admins finally said that he himself had CONFIRMED his threat, for me that was worthy of a permaban.

If you had been serious about the threat of a lawsuit, you would have had your attorney contacting Rov, not telegraphing your so-called threat to the board in general. Besides, initially the topic was taken as a joke, treated as a joke, even your first response to Gode was in a relaxed joking manner. It was the USUAL SUSPECTS who jumped on it and stirred up a hornet's nest with their unrelenting accusations and counterclaims and threats of their own.

Even though Cait, Neptunian and I reposted in that ban thread, we were jumped on by the USUAL SUSPECTS once again. Although, Neptunian may have been defending Shadowfire, as it is not really clear.

DS's permaban was nothing more than the easy way out on dealing with him. To interpret it as a threat against other members, then turn around and just temp suspend Shadowfire was the height of hypocrisy as far as I'm concerned.

And Friday asks us how we sleep at night.

yes, i take the threat of a virus far more serious than the threat of legal action which doesn't come from a lawyer...

then maybe the best thing you can do is play by their rules. simply put, show good faith.

wait thirty days (of which how many are up already?) and appeal. I'm not claiming it will guaranteed work- i'm not even a member - but if you play by their rules, so do they have to, right? They have to at least give you an appeal then, right? and the mods that frequent here might have some input as well? just a thought.
 
Well, DS, all I can say is it never hurts to at least try. Thirty days after the starting date of your permaban, you can email the admins, and make an appeal. If you are sincerely sorry, then all the best to ya. whether you get reinstated or not, you've come to be a better man. I thought your were pretty funny at times. And I kind of miss not seeing your witty posts there anymore. :(
