Another great way of finding digital copies of CDs you actually own but are too worn out to use is SoulSeek. It reminds me of the old Hotline days - only instead of servers you just have users. I can log in, post some bands in the wishlist, and it will announce those wishes to the community and search for those songs at the same time.
So you sit back down at your computer after however long and find that either: SoulSeek has found a bunch of good search results with low pings, or some friendly user went ahead and uploaded it to you already.
If you have a friend on the network, you can just give him your new favs, or whatever. You also find a lot of hard-to-find stuff, like independant bands or overseas stuff.
