Serious question about Football (Soccer) racism

And of course you were going to mention that Cambell and Defoe are on England's National team in the World Cup this year.... :D

Campbell's' 'star' has dropped an awful lot over the last couple of seasons. He's been frequently injured, and his general quality when in an England shirt has been highly questionable. He is currently fighting for a starting place in the England team, with Ferdinand and Terry likely to start as first choice centrebacks.

Jermaine Defoe's importance is likely to increase now Owen is injured - otherwise he and Owen are very similar players. Defoe has not been in good form this season either.

I think I understand where you're coming from. I will cheer for any player who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles (I'll boo him as well if he deserves it) and I'll boo any player who plays for another team, say, The Dallas Cowboys.

I guess the thing that shocked me was that in many of the stadiums, the fans would racially berate players from their own team.

That's the Spanish for you.

the same has been said of david Beckham, or is your focus on this post only to castigate the quality of blacks who made the English side?

Nope. Just giving a general view on Campbell. Beckham's star may have dropped, but he is still far more influential than Campbell.

that's comparing apples to oranges and you know it.
A Captain is supposed to be influential, to lead.
A defender is supposed to defend the Keep.

I really doubt the management of the English side wants to lose the Cup.
Ergo,
I therefore find it hard to believe that they don't think Campbell is one of the best defenders in England and that's why they called him to join the side.

And of all the amazing strikers in England, it's also probably just a fluke that they invited Defoe to play for England as well.
They clearly pull these names out of a hat somewhere.

Well, racism doesn't just exist among the Spanish fans.
