Perhaps you're new at this, but a very brief glance at Slipstream shows a thread detailing staff conduct at Slipstream. Allow me to quote verbatim some of the guidelines that HeroicFool posted which clearly show the error on at least RommieSG's part:Do her reasons really matter?
It's her or Hambil's board, they have every right to get rid of those posters they may deem as troublesome.
HeroicFool at SlipstreamBBS said:1. I will first and foremost endeavor to give the members the benefit of the doubt.
Judging by the exchange between our Jack-doppelganger and Rommie, provided courtesy of Gagh, Rommie did not give 'Jack' the benefit of the doubt.
2. I will do my best not to take offense even when offense is clearly meant. I am a member of the staff and I need to have a thicker skin than other members.
Knowing Jack, he more than likely used this as opportunity to troll, if we accept that this was Jack, and not a doppelganger as Jack claims. Regardless, this 'insult' is debatable, as the plural for 'PM' is PMs; PMS if the person typing is not bothering with grammatical conventions. Hence, Rommie did not do his best not to take offense.
3. I will not say anything about members of the Slipstream elsewhere on the net, public or private, that I would not or have not said to them on this board.
I believe an accurate interpretation of this would be engaging in dialogue with the offender before banning them. Since the dialogue has taken place here at TrollKingdom instead of at Slipstream, Rommie is in violation of this clause.
The Staff Code of Conduct can be found here. As a precaution against a preemptive removal of that thread, the rest of the Guidelines are as follows:
4. I have every right to voice any opinion that I have on any member of the Slipstream.
5. In a heated argument I have the right to give as well as receive. I am not expected to take whatever is lobbed in my direction without response.
6. I will strive to be consistent, but not foolishly so. Every case is different and all factors should be considered.
7. I will listen to all arguments, carefully weigh them and then decide if they have merit.
8. I am human, as all humans do, I sometimes make mistakes. I am not infallible. When I do err, I will admit it and endeavor to make amends.
9. I am not a GOD, or the mother and father to the members here, I am their friend.
10. If I begin to believe in my own divinity I will remember that my holiness is akin to the modern day version of the Wizard of Oz, a toothless old man behind a curtain with a megaphone.
Signed, HeroicFool
I trust that Rommie will honor number 8, particularly in regards of the Shoutbox.
Now, RedWhacker, as for your argument that it is their board to do as they will, you would be correct if there were no written guidelines for the staff and/or membership at large. Two notable examples would be rEFCL and Haven; Slipstream, however, is not.
