I have a feeling Cumberbatch's character will turn out to be the goody and HERO of this sequel flick. I suspect all this Cumberbatch-is-TEH-EVEL-VILLIAN blowin' up stuff REAL GOOD is a deliberate big set-up misdirect.

No, I agree. I thought it when I saw that bit in the trailer (well, that and "woah... this is the least subtle thing ever"). She looks great in other pictures but in that shot she has an odd, mannish expression and an inkling of a disconcerting six pack.

(Countdown til Sausage tells me off for suggesting that there's something wrong with women who look like blokes...)

So I had a dream that I was watching Star Trek Into Darkness last night. On a computer monitor. There was a scene where Bones hit Scotty over the head with a potted plant. And I said to Tomtrek (I said it out loud but he wasn't there so I guess we were talking on MSN...or Skype) "now THAT was funny!" And there was a crazy chase scene through the Enterprise. When I woke up I felt a lot better about the plot and depth of the Star Trek Into Darkness script.

I know nothing about this movie, I'm so far removed from Trek these days, and I've done nothing to find out about it. So you can all call me shallow that now I've seen this, I'll be watching it
