Remember in I think episode 2 where Q slaps Jean-Luc and Picard says "you're not well!" That was good! That was intriguing! The idea of Q gradually going more and more senile as the season goes on and his powers fritzing out in weirder and scarier ways. But he seemed perfectly mentally fine again in the finale and WHY IS HE DYING WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN.

In the latest Kevin Smith podcast Marc Bernardin who wrote elements of season 2 of Picard said he wrote a bunch of stuff before they started filming, went off to write something else, and by the time it made it to air, everything he wrote was changed beyond recognition.

That's Hollywood I guess.
