Stargate Universe

They're writing Rush inconsistently. One minute he's Groundskeeper Willie, the next he's peacefully reading the end of a book so he can die, then he's all dour and cryptic when everyone is happily celebrating their survival.

I think the idea was that he knew they werent going to die, thats why he was reading his book, because all he had to do was wait, and not be on the shuttle, since he probably knew that might not make it back.

I already know that reasoning, I'm saying that doesn't make sense. Rush isn't the type of person who'd give up that easily. Think about it, he was on the Destiny (his destiny), his dreams are about to come to an end.. so he just gives up? He's spent however long they've been on the ship trying to fix it so they can survive, I don't see him throwing in the towel to lie down and read.

If he DID know they were going to be okay, why let the others get on the shuttle with valuable supplies? AND WHY HAS NO ONE MENTIONED THE OTHER SHUTTLE FLYING OFF AT THE END OF EPISODE THREE?

Because sometimes the show doesn't make sense! IMMMO.

The little pod thing will probably be revisited in a later episode. Stargate likes to do little things like that, which I think is pretty cool.

Yeah, it'll turn up in some later episode with those characters who went through the gate. I think there are something like 22 episodes, so it could well happen this season. Air, Darkness, Light, Water, Fire, Twats.

Young: What's going on? Why's the lighting become dramatic again?

Rush: With the twats that just came on board we now have too many for the ship to support!

Young: But can't you just...

Rush: YOU DONT UNDERSTAND NOBODY UNERSTANST EXCEPT ME IM A TWAT I KNOW ABOUT TWATS I'VE BEEN LOOKING AT TWATS ALL MY LIFE AND IM TELLING YOU WE HAVE TOO MANY TWATS

Oh yeah, how come Chloe was telling Bland that she feels closer to him than anyone else in her life? They'd had like one scene together before the sex.

Some girls love a big chunky guy. Chloe's a superficial bitch, IMO. I want to see a bitch fight between Chole and the other chick Scott did, while the ship's resident lesbo gets all hot and bothered.

Also is anyone else waiting for the Neelix of this show to arrive BTW?

The Neelix will probably end up being one of the scientists who currently get a line here and there. Maybe the one with the dark hair who found talking to the kino intimidating.

About Cloe and Scott fucking... well, they did share that scene where he told her about his priest/father figure dying. But really I think they fucked because they knew she'd probably die and he hadn't taken his shirt off yet.

Found this week's ep a little more mixed. The alien story was interesting and hopefully it'll turn out they didn't get rid of them all so we can find out more about them. The story with Scott trapped in the crevasse was a bit boring, though. They drew it out for too long and it's not like he even got rescued in the end because of some quick thinking. It was just a fluke that a tremor set him free in time.

Nice to see Johansen get more screentime and I'm starting to warm to Greer. Still find his constant pained expression annoying, though. Shame they killed off that new guy Gorman so quickly. He was nice. Cool death though.

I wonder if the alien is the reason the last planet is a desert. I'M SURE IT IS.

I was bored with the trapped in a crevasse storyline too.. I kept thinking "THERE'S ONLY 5 MINUTES LEFT, A MIRACLE IS GONNA HAPPEN" and then it did. I was hoping they'd figure out they should send the aliens through the gate sooner, and then the aliens would save Scott. I knew they'd somehow figure out how to get the aliens through the gate as soon as they discovered them on the ship.

Using the gate didn't occur to me straight away because I thought the aliens would die there (since they spent ages pointing out to us how deadly it was for humans). Good call on the desert world. That makes sense.

I wouldn't have minded the whole crevasse thing if we'd actually found out some stuff about the characters, but all we found out was that Young makes hard decisions. Not really news. Also, there was that howling noise when they first stepped through the gate, so I hoped there'd be a monster of some kind. Especially when Young said "relax, it's just a tremor". I hoped that was one of those "it's probably just the wind" type horror movie lines.

Yeah, the ice plaent stuff was boring. The alien stuff semed like it was going to be more interesting, when they were making faces and trying to communicate, but then they just spent the rest of the episode being moved about.

ON THE PLUS SIDE, good to see more of Johansson (who I now think is fitter than Chloe...BY FAR) and I did like it when Angry Black Guy made a FLAME GUN.

Probably the weakest episode so far, my favourite bit was probably the same as yours "Hey, I can invent stuff too"

And did anyone else think of Chief Wiggum when the redshirt was firing his gun into the cloud of dust?

Gorman should have known better being part of an SG outift to fire his gun at an alien dust cloud. Period. Idiot. What are they taught during training anyways?

The attempt to show that Young is under pressure is forced, IMO. He's the leader, it's implied. Leaders make hard decisions.

The whole ep, bar Greer making his flame gun and Johansson showing us her minimal leadership chops was a snore.
