Stargate Universe

I assume so. I don't know the whole story behind the Lucian Alliance, but I think they were Jaffa (so, humans with the Goa'uld parasites in them - like evil Trill) who took control of all the left over equipment when the Goa'uld system lords were taken out and a power vacuum was created.

At this point if they simply removed the stones Rush probably has more than enough info to give them. Then if only the USAF would bust out those Asgard lazar beams Sam could remove the ALLIANCE from their second Icarus planet and everyone could have a way home by the end of the first season, just like Atlantis.

I really hope this does not happen, that they do not find a way home. Not for awhile longer at least. But it is starting to look like the Lucians are going to be able to dial the Destiny in the next two episodes.....

You guys are way too aware of the backstory. My impression of this show is some dudes are in an alien shaceship, flying around landing on breathable places, and also there are some aliens trying to kill them and shit. Also there's this colonel guy who was a spy, maybe because of brainwashing. He got beat up and it was cool. Also this one time this asian chick got the civilians to munity, and another time the captain dude left the scrawny dude on this place so he could die but HE DID NOT b/c he got kidnaped by some aliens.

See, that's not so hard.

They cant do an atlantis, because as soon as they can dial back to earth, then they lose all the civilians who didn't want to be there in the first place.

Even if someone dials to Destiny, they cannot find a way back, the ship is too damaged and despite trips through suns to refuel, doesn't have enough juice. It'd take a whole other season to fix the ship up enough to get her up to spec and that's more than enough time for wacky hijinks to ensue.

They should be able to make multiple trips. Didn't the first planet only explode because they kept shooting at it, not because a gate was using it as fuel? If so, then whoever boards can use the comm stones to speak to their guys left at the planet and ask them to open the gate from their end. I don't think it matters how much juice Destiny has if the planet that's dialing in has enough. It's like getting a phone call, you don't pay unless you're the one calling.

Gates don't work like that. You can't dial an incoming wormhole. You can only dial out.

I don't think I'm explaining it clearly. Once they board Destiny through the gate, the Lucians will have some people on the ship and some people remaining on the planet.

When the people on the ship want to return to the planet, one of them will use a communication stone to inhabit the body of one of their people on the planet and dial the gate to Destiny, before returning to their body and then coming through the now active wormhole between Destiny and the planet.

Destiny will be receiving an incoming wormhole, not generating one, so it shouldn't matter how much power it has. All the power will be coming from the naquadah planet.

Yeah, but a stargate is one way only, they can only send more people to the destiny, never send anyone back.

Wat? Stargates are two way or they wouldn't be able to GO BACK AND FORTH through them.

I thought last night was the season finale and I was all... WTF? THAT IS A BAD CLIFFHANGER TO END THE SEASON ON, then the previews for next week came on and I was all happy.

I bet Eli and Chloe figure out a way to save them all, and find some cool new gadgets or SOMETHING.

Don't worry, I'm sure it will still end on a stupid cliffhanger.

I miss TV shows that do not end every season on a cliffhanger. TV producers these days seem to think that if any resolution is provided at the end of a season viewers will forget that the show exists. I blame this on TNG. Damn you Mr. Worf.

Some twat on deviantArt posted a bunch of screenshots from the last episode, so I know some of what happens. It's actually a pretty obvious resolution if you consider all the options.

Anyhoo, I liked this ep. Killing Telford to release him from the brainwashing was pretty hardcore, but it made sense enough. And Young's justification for not explaining the plan to Scott made sense too, even if it really would have helped on this occasion and was blatantly only written the way it was to raise tension.

Great to see Sam again. And Flabby O'Neil.

So I'm still not clear about the naquastuff planets. Do they always explode when they're used to start a stargate? The first one did, of course. But this time it was suggested that it was due to something Rush did on purpose.

OH.. I just remembered that I have one srs bsns complaint about the episode. It was really obvious that TJ would be captured when she ran after Rush. WTF did she think she needed to chase him down for? They could have just as easily had the LA people capture her in the sickbay!

I haven't been paying much attention to the technology on the show, so I don't know about the naquasomething planets. I sort of remember them talking about that stuff in SG1, but I didn't pay attention to it then either.

WHY DIDN'T YOUNG INSTANTLY VENT THE ATMOSPHERE IN THE GATE ROOM!??? He just did it to Rush/Asainface like 10 min ago and then suddenly he gets cold feet. He just shoulda done it then ran in and saved that dude. Jack might be right Young is incompetent.
