Mirah,
Curious to know why you quoted those words without further comment and now use them as your signature.
Are you saying you agree that it is acceptable to rob a person because they must be asking for it if they have anything of worth on their person?

..... A serious criminal would have used a gun (they are easy enough to get in the US anyway).

...
And apparently carring such a big sum around openly is a completely idiotic idea, I might add. When I take a stroll through let's say Downtown LA, I have 20 bucks in my wallet to satisfy a robber and carry about 100 in my old and very shabby looking hollow belt which no robber would consider worthy of a second look. One must use common sense! This guy practically asked to be robbed!

Have you ever purchased a gun in the US?
...
Serious criminals have been committing crimes with knives since their invention. Criminals with box cutters have committed heinous crimes.
...
So, it is okay to be a criminal because a person with something of worth on their person is asking to be robbed?

(I know you were talking to Ms. Nature, just decided to chime in again)
Yes, and good point to counter Ms. Nature's. It's actually quite a process (especially hand-guns). Getting a carry permit's a bit difficult too unless you have political connections.
I have such weapons, but not a concealed carry. In California, in some cities, you CAN carry an un-concealed hand-gun if it is un-loaded, and you have to surrender it to a Peace Officer to verify that fact if asked. A mugger with a gun is unlikely to carry it "legally".

True. A base-ball bat is a lethal weapon too, and a mugger with that is just as dangerous as one with a knife or gun. Maybe more so, as you can parry with a bat more easily.
Even an un-armed person (properly trained) is a deadly weapon, however the discipline required usually makes such people less likely to be a mugger. In any case, the THREAT is the thing.

As I said before, if you threaten me I'm going to assume you are competent and deal with you accordingly, weapon or no.
