Shit! That reminds me. As of Tuesday, I had not received Red. I need to call and see if it was delivered.

That's very strange. I've rarely waited for more than a few days for DeepDiscountDVD shipments to arrive, even when I've chosen the free shipping option.

It seems the DVD never arrived. :rwmad:

The only thing I can think of is the fact that the order took a looooooong time to be confirmed.

Maybe the webpage hiccuped or something. I can't look into it until I have access to my password again. Which won't be for awhile.

Damn!

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, if they have it, is hands-down the scariest thing ever put on film. Watch it alone. In the dark. At night.

Number 6---I'm a big Fellini fan. Have you watched most of his work? Do you care for Luis Bunuel (another of my favorite sureallists).

They dont have it :(

Yep. That's not as weird as other Bunuel films. He was heavily influenced by surrealism, and I believe that Un chien andalou was made in collaboration with Salvador Dali.

Later Fellini is also a mindfuck. But in a positive way. Watch a couple of his earlier films first, like Nights of Cabiria and La Dolce Vita, then watch 8 1/2, which is semi-autobiographical. Then hit some of the later films and see what you think. Probably start with Juliet of the Spirits when you move to his later phase.

If you use Netflix, make sure to get Criterion versions whenever possible. They will have good commentary tracks and extras to supplement the film. Criterion kicks ass.

Oh I loved that movie.. I love Catherine Deneuve movies..
Didnt they remake that movie not to long ago?

Phone -- A great Japanese horror flick about a possessed cell phone and a freaked out five-year-old that shouldn't know how to act that creepy.

Returner -- Japanese action movie about an assassin and a time-traveler who has come back to save the world from aliens destorying Earth. Kind of cheesy, but it's got the fuckalicious Takeski Kaneshiro in it.

^Absolutely love that movie!! They rarely ever play it, though.

The song is "Stella by Starlight" or "Stella by Moonlight?"

I don't know if NetFlix has them, but check out The Big Sleep and Naked City. (No, neither of those is pr0n.) There's nothing like a classic films noirs on a rainy evening.

Lots of good noir out there. The original The Postman Always Rings Twice is good, and I recently watched a later noir, Kiss Me Deadly, a Mike Hammer story. Interesting, and there are some interesting extras that discuss the atomic fears the film deals with.

Unfortunately, Double Indemnity has yet to be re-released to DVD. It was given a shitty transfer way back when DVDs first came out, went OOP, and hasn't returned.

Citizen Kane! One of my faves of all time.

Good on a cold, rainy evening when you're stuck in the house because it's too cold to do a damn thing. Except watch movies.

Good God, where the hell is the sun?!!!

Update: it seems the order was shipped way back on February 28. I never received it. One option is it's still at the Post Office. Another option is my friend's brain dead husband got it out of the mail, and either forgot about it, or spitefully and intentionally is withholding it from me. He's done that before. The fucker. I shall investigate further.
