Unluckiest Charm in the Box
If there were any era throught your life (that you enjoyed) and were given a seond chance to relive it, what would it be?

I'd do all of them again if I could keep knowing what I know now. I'd do some things differently, for sure, but it might surprise folks which things I'd change and which ones I'd leave the same. I'd definitely be a bigger Beatles fan.

As a native Californian and on behalf of Californians everywhere, I'm/we're glad you didn't.

California doesn't need anyone who refers to California as 'Cali'. There might be something more lame than calling California 'Cali', but I pretty sure can't imagine what it might be.

Please, continue to stay wherever the hell you are.

We have quite a few more shitty, wannabe poets than we need.

Everything would have stayed pretty much the same, except after the Air Force, I'd have gone to Cali.

Thank GOD for TKHMA, I always say!

As far as era's and dates, remember those fabulous fifties?

If I knew then what I know now ;)

Most people refer to it as "The land of Fruits and Nuts" ;)

I used to live in San Jose back in the early 90's. I really did love it there (especially the drives down Hyw 1). Everything from Half Moon Bay to Mountainview were an absolute dream. Although rather expensive, I really do miss it sometimes!

Probably the 80's. But if I had a choice of era outside of my lifetime, it'd be the 60's.

The early 60s were awesome in my experience. Barbie Dolls, swimming pools, ice cream parlors, roller skating at the roller rink, picnics at the park, Saturday morning cartoons, barbecues with the neighbors, and playing all over the neighborhood with a bunch of kids.

We did see things on the TV that we found disturbing so we grew up trying to change the world. We did. It still needs work, and always will. Keep on keeping on.

the 80's were great.

I had a dream 2-6-83 that america would finally get a black president in 2005. so what! my timing was a little off.

The time I lived in Seattle just before the turn of the century
My clothes fit so well
I danced all night long
I had adventures with men who liked women and men who liked men and women who liked women
(I only liked men back then)
I traveled and drove everywhere
and when my car broke down, I rode the bus
and when I was done riding the bus, I bought a new car and drove it everywhere

Then, there were The Beatles....................

Yes. The Beatles. I was an itty bitty. When my sister told me she liked the beetles I thought she was talking about the black and yellow bugs we referred to as kissing beetles that left painful welts when they got on you. I thought she was very odd. Then, of course, I learned what she meant and was hooked for life.

Frisco. Nobody within 300 miles of San Francisco EVER calls it Frisco. It will peg you as a tourist every time.

I remember when my sister told me about her interest in the Beatles. We were at the 5 & Dime looking at toys. I was about 8 and she was about 10. She said she wanted Beatle stuff. I thought that odd that she wanted something to do with bugs. I didn't understand the concept of a rock 'n roll band. I listened to my parents big band music, my granny's old time country music, my neighbor's Beach Boys collection, and another neighborhood kid's collection of songs like Monster Mash and Wooly Bully that we neighborhood kids would dance-spaz out to for fun.

Shortly after that I went to live in a Baptist orphanage. We were allowed to watch music TV programs for only 10 minutes at a time. I had just turned 10 and decided it was time I become sophisticated like my sister and view the contraband. The Beatles had a Saturday morning cartoon show at that time. Perfect for me. Then, John said the thing that the world went insane over in a negative way and the people at the orphanage made us put all our Beatles stuff in a pile in the middle of campus where the stuff was burned. :{ I think that is what kicked the revolution into gear.

What was it that John said? Please enlighten us.
