The Batman

You could play a game of glasgow or glasno depending on what scene it is.

WB do what Walt Disnae.

(I don't know.)

Well that's gone from probably won't see at the cinema to definitely wont.

If it's good enough to justify the time, I don't mind.

I'd rather just have a short scene where The Riddler says "Riddle me this: What happened to Bruce Wayne's parents?" And then Dave Chappelle pops up and says "They dead."

The whole movie should play in reverse and the end credits scene is his parents being killed.

Maybe the whole of Batman's life is a giant ground hog day, and the timeloop starts at his parents death.

Huh. So it looks like a relentless joyless grind, but at least it's slightly less then 3 hours of relentless joyless grind. Absolutely nothing about this movie looks interesting to me. How does Warner Brothers manage to do that? To just kill cash cows left and right?

So the movie comes out in a few days. Reviews were "embargoed" until tonight. This, along with Warner's track record of fucking up superhero movies--and the 3 hour run time--AND the relentlessly dark, emo, joyless trailer--did NOT inspire me. BUT...

RottenTomatoes is giving it an 87% Fresh and has a lead story about how amazingly awesomesauce it is. *BUT!!!*

When you drill into the reviews, some of the reviews they've ranked "Fresh" read like "Well, it isn't as much of a shitty mess as some of us thought it was going to be..."

So, Astroturf?

Ignore the paid shill critics. Focus only on audience reviews; those are the honest ones.

'Get woke, go broke' didn't become a thing by being untrue.

Looks promising, but fourteen months before release is way too early for a trailer (or TEASER, whatever.)

Bump for anyone who's seen it but can't find this thread.

It doesn't come out in theaters in the US until midnight. I'll probably wait to see it though until it comes out April 19th on HBO Max.

As often as I complain about people who don't use the Internet to learn things, they use it to find things that agree with what they believe, for the predominantly strong reviews it's getting, I'm drawn to the one by the...Washington Post(?) that says it is long, dark, depressing, sadistic, and boring (or words to that effect).

I'm sure the thread will stay on the front page on Friday (today.)

I'll wait for it to come on sky

Well they've delayed The Flash movie until June 2023, so I guess we're not getting three different versions of Batman in one year anymore.

I’m seeing it on Monday. I really hope it’s not 3 hours of depression.
