I remember one which was actually quite good where he played an American supporting the French resistance. At one point he had to cross dress, for reasons I'm struggling to recall.

Probably because his agent said "You know what would be great? If you played against type and did a movie where you had to get into drag for some reason," thinking that he was talking to Sylvester Stallone and not Matt LeBlanc.
