The Walking Dead season 5

CaptainWacky

I want to smell dark matter
I just remembered it starts tonight, so here's a thread!

Maybe it'll be good. Or bad. Or somewhere in between.

If it isn't, it's the first time the uploaders have included it.

Really good episode. I love Carol, she's such a bitch. I hope it's not the last action we see until the mid-season finale (the preview for next week looked good, but they can be deceiving).

Apparently one of the people who had his throat slit by the cannibals (which was really graphic) was the hippy guy Rick met last season. I totally forgot about him/didn't recognise him.

How did Carol get cleaned up so fast escaping the mayhem she created?

I am glad she's back and welcomed back too, but they were setting that up for us the entire last season.
I'm a little disappointed in the guy with the cure.

for those who haven't watched yet:
They forced him to tell and he really doesn't have a cure but an idea for a cure.

The abbatoir scene was properly frightening, but fell victim to the "who's NOT going to die in the story yet" subplot. The second time Glenn almost gets it was where they lost me. I thought it was Carol that went first but I was probably dissociating since she obviously was elsewhere at the time..

Great episode. Fire zombies indeed. Greetings from the apocalypse.

Oh and someone online said the crazy "WE'RE THE SAME" guy they freed from the crate was the guy who was raping Denise Crosby and friends in flashbacks, but again I didn't notice...

So we're supposed to feel bad for them and justify them turning people into poop sized chunks?

Just rewatched this episode and it's probably the best one yet. I have to agree with Pandora, how the fuck did Carol clean up after smearing herself with enough dead shit to fit in?

Aside from that, I take back what I said in my first post. The abattoir scene was perfect, and I got to scroll slomo as they were dragging Rick et al in. What a fucking mess. The Puberty is strong with Carl.

And.....CAROL SAVES THE DAY!!!

yay.

Net week, The Preacher!

He reminded me of Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull. Imagine if he stumbled out in a kilt with a flute screaming "AQUALUNG MY FRIEND"

Yeah but where did she find the time between killing that bitch in the sanctuary/temple, fire zombies, fighting off the cannibal hillbillies, the explosions and fires and the zombies who weren't on fire?

I'm calling blooper.

I think we're supposed to think that maybe Rick's group could have ended up like them, if they'd been in the same circumstances. Except actually eating human flesh is pretty fucking extreme. They should have had Denise Crosby try to justify that in some way.

I'm just pretty excited to see Morgan back, and I hope they don't screw it up too badly. Both his arcs with Andrew Lincoln were fantastic, they play very well off each other and the guy is a fine actor. Not to mention at this point he's almost completely free of the comic script and can be explored like Daryl is. As much as I like the comic series, I really enjoy when they can go off the boards and add new wrinkles to the storyline.

Sometimes you just gotta squint past stuff, like when they spent an entire season with brand new Isuzu's that never got dirt or zombie guts on them because the car company doing product placement wouldn't allow it.

Well IMO they've been way off the comic story line pretty much from the getgo. While TERMINUS may have been inspired by the Hunters in the book the two storylines never really converged. It's what I like about the tv series over the book, you never really know what's going to happen.

If you go back through all the arcs they may parallel, but never really converge. However, that seems like it's about to change in this season, especially with "The Stranger" coming up.

I was pissed because my DVR cut the afterscene off just before the end of the scene. Maybe they'll start it off with this weeks episode?

One can only hope.
