The X-Files to return

I'm looking forward to it, but definitely feel the smoking man should stay dead. I never found him interesting to begin with, but he was pretty clearly shown being blown to pieces, so he should stay dead.

So should I download this tomorrow or just wait a week or to for 5 to show it? I'm not super hyped or anything so I could wait.

I will watch it tonight. I heard the first episode isn't very good, but the second one is better. I don't know if I'll keep watching it. IT'S ON AT 8PM MONDAYS :rwmad:

I don't like ads and I'm impatient so I'll download. Pity if it gets off to a rocky start, but hopefully it does improve and all make sense in the end.

There're been a few shows lately that've had great starts, only to unravel later on. I think I can cope with it happening the other way around.

I didn't think the first episode was terrible, but they had a lot of information to stuff into that hour, so that made it probably not as good as it could have been. It's kinda like they were trying to get people who'd never seen it up to speed or something. I'll keep watching :rwmad:

First episode, not so great. Second episode was a lot better, imho. And the preview for next week seems pretty hilarious! I'm sort of enjoying this trip to nostalgialand.

Well, I watched the first episode...it was pretty bad. Just a load of random nonsense for the most part. ONE WOMAN says she was abducted by men and not aliens and SUDDENLY Mulder thinks all the aliens he saw were lies. Even though we SAW the Cigarette Smoking Man and his group discussing their alien allies and colonisation, even in scenes where Mulder wasn't around! Skinner mentions 9/11 in passing and SUDDENLY that's part of the conspiracy too (poor Joel McHale having to make that speech.) And frankly David Duchovny looked like a zombie and there was no chemistry between him and Scully.

Saw the first episode tonight. It was generally really good. I liked the dose of humour and of course Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are still great together. What I wasn't so keen on were the information dumps and rushed conversations everyone kept having. The part with Mulder meeting the doctor from Roswell was so choppily edited it made my head spin.

The other thing that just seemed kinda weird, was how the original show so carefully hinted at aliens and conspiracies and secret tech, etc, without ever spoiling the mystery by showing us all these things in the cold hard light of day. But this episode just said "hey, here's a spaceship! Take a good look! Oh and he's an alien! Did you miss it? Here, we'll show you it again". That was odd.

Whether you liked the first episode or not, it does get better!

The Trashman episode was on last night (I don't know if that's the ep title), it was really good and it was terribly sad. How are they going to wrap things up with just one more episode? Are there going to be more seasons?

There's two more episodes (if you just watched episode four.)

I don't want to be MISTER NEGATVIE again (this isn't a Sherlock thread) and Gillian Anderson was fine, I just thought Duchovny was really weird, like Mulder had suffered a complete mental break needed locked up. But maybe he was supposed to be like that.

Mulder acted like he has drunk nothing but red bull since the old series went off the air.

Watched the second and third tonight. 2 had some interesting stuff, mostly with the weird kids, but otherwise not really that memorable an episode. But 3 was excellent. Loved the werehuman idea and it was laugh out loud in many places. I like that they're experimenting with the tone of the show in these episodes.

I liked all of Scully's scenes concerning her mother in the 4th episode, but the monster didn't interest me much. The guy playing the artist was very good, though.

Nice to see Gaeta briefly, as well as a rather plump Tyrol the week before.
