Wasted sympathies. I'd rather save the tears for my loved ones. Been enough of that - don't need to squeeze off any crocodile tears for some schmuck I didn't know.

Interesting thread. I saw the Maestro at Carnegie. He was a benevolent artist.

His presence and gifts will be missed in this world, and he died a terrible death which he didn't karmically deserve for his contributions to society.

Whatever debt he owed for the example of his life, my guess is he's paid now.

Even better - go buy a sticker of a candle and put it on your car. Get a lapel pin of a candle and wear it on your coat. All in honor of Pavarotti and how sensitive you are. :gagh:

I already have them as well as the DVDs available of his performances.

You know, some artists are like this - you watch them, you listen to them, and you think they are good but not the big exceptionally, unbelievably amazing talent worthy of the praise others heap on them. Then, one performance you see or hear their exceptionally, unbelievably amazing talent and that little soul within you recognizes it and is pleased.
