Why thankya. The main piece of software I use is Scrivener. If you're on Windows, there's a free beta you can have a go at.

Don't let its initial appearance of complexity fool you -- you can get as deep into its complexity as you want or just keep to the shallows for the shortest pieces. It's extremely scalable that way. I've written everything from greeting cards to feature length screenplays with it.

It's not that expensive. Only $150 for 10 pages, or somewhere around 6,000 words. And considering that buys you not only a story written to your exact wish list of events, people, etc. but also buys you full rights, including republishing rights, that's actually a pretty good bargain considering the return on investment.

:shrug: Use the work for whatever you want to use it for. Just because Jack used it as troll material -- and used it to very good effect, I might add -- that doesn't mean that's all you could use it for yourself.

What really worries me is his expenses on Donovan, Loktar, Ily, and Sun.

Only Donovan is worth more than pocket change. The rest just drivel and face desk.
