Growing up? Hell yes. Darthsikle and I grew up in a White Man's Ghetto.

But I haven't been "poor" since I was 16 and started working. Granted, it made getting through college a lot harder, but it was worth it.

Understood. Luckily, my wife and I have a very strong background in finance, so we were able to get a really good deal on our home. Plus, I've re-financed a couple of times and now have a 15-year mortgage (12 yrs. left) @4.5%. Not bad for a 34-year-old. We're lucky we got in right before the market exploded. Good luck!

North of Phoenix a few hours is a town called Jerome; it's waaaaay up on a mesa overlooking this awesome valley. It will be 2 hours of drive and five minutes of "wow!" but hey.

Or go north to Sedona and ask every shop owner on main street which is the best vortex to see.

The drive to Jerome is only worth it for the drop errr i mean view
