I was trying to spam to FC during that time and I used to lurk in the chatroom to see if you were around before spamming. You were mean!!

As for spyware ? Its more than possible. The UGO ads have been chocked full of spyware for years now. Mostly just marketing cookies and such. Although some serious spyware has gone through there. They started turning a blind eye to that when I was still around. It's not hard to imagine them evolving to the point of actually using spyware themselves. In fact I'd say that the only thing that kept them from doing it before now was that none of them was technically competent enough to make it happen. Certainly the morality of the issue wouldn't phase them. Trekbbs has never been about "should we do this" its always been a "how do we do this" operation.

I for one would like to know what they're doing. If they're actually using spyware to track people than they're either (1) downloading spyware to every logged on member (which seems unlikely, but not impossible) or (2) downloading spyware to suspected duals (which seems like a difficult undertaking) So if someone would like to go sniffing around Trekbbs with a few spyware detectors I'd be interested in seeing the results.

All things considered I'd say its more likely that you somehow missed a cookie, used the same IP address twice, or just gave yourself away. However, if someone has proof of the spyware I'd be glad to see it.

You are quite correct.Any original thought or post is frowned upon.Endless threads about the same old things.A lot of favourtism for certain posters.

RobertScorpio spams the board and is allowed to get away with it.One day he started 12 new similar threads in trek general and when others complained about it they were ignored.He seems to have endless freedom to spam the board.He is very cosy with some of the mods there.Special favours and all that.

I only had a dual cos some asshole mod banned me because he/she was sucking up robertscopio's poo when i complained about him spamming as per board rules.
 
Lisa would often warn me when Charles Capps wanted to ban my duals. Some of you should have just been nicer to her.

AntonyF doesn't seem as obsessed with banning as Capps was but they have better software now that makes it easier.

My own opinion on duals is well-known. If I don't know and/or if they don't cause me trouble, I can't be bothered. If someone does cause trouble or goes LOOK AT ME!! I'M A DUAL, well that's plain stupid and they deserve to be closed.

Yeah, that makes me arbitrary. Oh well....

Yep. Some of the ones who used to be on staff were, uh, not quite trustworthy. Quite a few, in fact. Back when I was a trollish mod, I knew the dirt.

I've no doubt that I have a few of my own not quite loyal to/enamored of me. As long as they don't fuck up the board, I don't lose sleep over it. I'm pretty fond of my mods and grateful that they help run the place. They're a good bunch.

Except that asshole Spiff! (in case he's lurking here. ;) )

Oh, and fuck you Wacky for not coming forward with that information when it would have mattered.


I know some people really got off on talking to the mods in chat rooms or ICQ but it just wasn't for me. The few conversations I had with Neroon and Verteron were just painful. I posted the emails I exchanged with Lisa and we all saw how that went.

I just didn't want anything to do with those people, and I sure didn't want to have to pretend to be their friend just so I could say my peace on the forum.

I completely diesagreed with every line of thought they had and found it impossible to have any kind of normal conversation with them. In fact, one of the biggest problems I had with the staff was all the backroom conversations. I never said anything behind closed doors I didn't say right on the forum.

You might not liked what I had to say, but atleast I was honest about who I was and what I thought.
