Should I watch it? The first season looked amazing but the story wasn't the best?

I'll give it a try. I liked the first series but found it a bit slow paced or something.

Or something = I think sometimes people take the shortcut of paring down the dialogue to an absolute minimum in an effort to make a drama seem more cerebral. Sometimes it works, which it did to an extent here, and other times it's really lame and frustrating (remember the Governor episode of TWD where he silently walked into and out of rooms and the condition of his beard was the only gauge of character development?)

I genuinely liked it, but typically didn't see it all.

Frankly I could watch Fiona O'Shaughnessy make toast and jam.

So I watched both new episodes.

The first one was a bit eye-rolley in that they went back to the "people get shot in the head" a lot stuff. It stops being shocking and just becomes expected. I don't know if we really learned anything new from the episode, but it's not like I could remember all the details of series one so I suppose it was fine as a recap. I didn't know if the part with Arby in the nuclear plant was actually literally happening? Rose Leslie is good.

Second episode was better as it showed a lot of the fun side of Utopia. Lots of funny lines, some great directing and cinematography. Story was just a rehash of series one really with some of the characters on different sides, but it was entertaining. Ian McDiarmid! Kevin Eldon! Philomena Cunk!

Yeah I'm already sick of 'shocking' head shots after two episodes. Pietra killing people in the second episode was like it too, but with a funny side that made it less annoying.

I liked the first episode, mostly because I couldn't remember what'd happened previously. They explained it quite nicely, and I know a few people who were completely new to Utopia that got sucked in by this episode. Not sure how they felt about the next one being set decades later with almost entirely different actors, though.

Second ep was good, even though it was still setting everything up.

When I saw the guy with the family at the start I thought "I bet he kills his wife and children." It would have been more of a surprise twist if he hadn't.

The headshots are back! Wilsons can suddenly shoot three guys in the head effortlessly? Was he trained as a killer during series? Why does Milner (who was better when played by Rose Leslie) want him on side so badly anyway? She has unlimited bastards working for her. Does she just want someone to exposition to?

I liked the stuff with Ian McDiarmid. He finally got to speak English.

This week's was good but again everyone's suddenly an expert shot now (Grant killing Milner.) Wilsons suddenly being in charge of everything was pretty ridiculous too. Also it's weird that they had a whole flashback episode for Thingy where they never mentioned once that he was Romany and had been in the holocaust. You'd think it would have made sense to have all that stuff in there?

Yeah, they really could've done with mentioning that. When it came up that he was a holocaust survivor I thought it was a lie at first, so I was preoccupied wondering about that for a while.

I liked the Welsh one's reaction when the girl got in the car.

At first I thought he was just some old guy who had the real Philip's memories somehow or something....but that would be a pretty involved twist to reveal in the last episode (next episode is the last episode. EVER?)

I'm surprised it's over so quick but I don't think I'll miss it too much. They kill off characters so quickly that I've never really grown attached to any of them, and as we've discussed, the "shock value" thing has grown really thin. The basic concept of the virus is really cool, though.

ANYONE?

By the way, it's been cancelled. So if you haven't watched the finale, not much point in watching it now.

Not a huge surprise since the second series was kind of bad.
