We didn't start the Fire

About 4 fires started across the river around 2 AM last night by arson. I don't know how the other fires were caused yet. High winds contributed to terrible conditions for fires. Ash and debri were dropping down on us today. I got out the hoses and started watering everything down. Now the whole state seems to be filled with smoke from these fires.

Yeah, do you deal w/ any severe weather stuff?

I was happy when I lived on the west side of the state where this sort of thing didn't happen every summer. We made it through most of the summer, these shouldn't be too bad being at the end of the season, temps are cooling down and it could start raining or snowing at any time. (Probably not until Oct or Nov, but still)

This morning is less smokey.
The smoke did travel west and now all of my friends on that side are experiencing what I have eperienced for the last 5 years.

Here is some video I took yesterday along the Columbia. Jack I wonder when you were here! Crazy! It is beautiful, but also so dry and brown. I prefer the greener wetter side. :D

My son took us up there when we went to Portland to visit him a couple years ago. He has since moved to Washington state. He took us all the way up the coast to where those huge rock formations sit in the ocean near the beach. We followed the Columbia River most of the way up then veered off into the ocean. A good time was had by all. I have a bunch of pics from back then still on my phone. I'll find them and upload some later.

We had some severe rain and wind shear this spring which wiped out the side of a mountain with a mudslide and completely killed a trail. Otherwise, pretty normal.
