Welcome Wordforge posters

I suppose if that place proves anything it might be that getting ALL of your news from social media sources is a bad idea.

Most people fall into that trap, and it's always a bad idea. Explains the echo chamber vibe over there as well. But then again, I'm guessing most of them don't get out too much, so.

When I see a story that may look biased I check all sides, left, right, social media and the government.

They're all biased, but if you spend a little time you can actually form your own independent opinion about whatever it is the outrage of the moment is.

That's the key. Don't believe everything you read, put in a little research. The crucible of truth will win out eventually.

The MCU Phase 5 thread hurts my brain.
WAB: "Thunderbolts has grossed over $380 million. That's more than Volpone will ever have in his life."
Raoul the Redshirt: "An article in Variety says it had a $180 million budget and $100 million in marketing and will need to make $425 million to break even. I don't understand this. Assuming the budget and marketing really cost that much still, wouldn't everything over $280 million be profit?"
Of course. Because movie theaters give 100% of the ticket sales to the studio. They show movies out of charity and goodwill.
And having a $380 million box office doesn't do you much good if you wind up losing $60 million to get it.
The copium is strong with this bunch
