Well I've been banned from Wordforge

But the rules keep changing, and no one is telling the members what they are.

The rule that allowed Nick to open that WF File Sharing Thread was rescinded. For all we know, Para might have remembered that thread, and thought discussing the topic in public was within board rules.

Unbeknownst to him, those types of threads are no longer allowed. He was set up by the board's wavering, nebulous policies. Para thought he was following the rules.

Maybe a clear policy on the topic is in order?

I listed a fully legal download site !

I can only hope the next person to mention iTunes is also banned.

In fact the next person to even mention an ipod will be banned from the internet all together !
 
The hosts don't want discussion or connection to downloading. They are stupid. Elwood wants to play their game for the long run so he complies. When we feel they won't be checking any more the rule may be recinded.

That's not what I read. I read there was to be no discussion on Illegal downloading. Fine, I won't and I didn't.

They should change the header to read "Welcome to Wordforge ! Mention iTunes and be banned for a day !"

You can email them here ( [email protected] ) and thank them for providing such a great site like Wordforge to download all the newest and coolest music from. Be sure to send many letters from many different email addresses. Don't be afraid to fax them at 1-386-383-9832. Tell them Borgs sent you.

Fail to STFU and get banned for a day, it was that or LET you rack up 5 warnings and get banned permenently. It was a mercy.

Apparently they weren't even allowed to have a lengthy enough discussion to agree on what would and wouldn't be allowed. Yep, that place is run like a swiss watch.
 
Not that I care, but from what I'm reading:

The WF rules quoted above prohibit discussion of illegal activities, and includes illegal downloading of episodes.

However, there are now legal avenues of downloading episodes, and that's what Para's talking about.

IOW, WF's rules on the subject are obsolete. Seems to me that the staff jumped the gun in banning him.
 
Guys, this only came in yesturday as a temporary measure. No one's asking to 'keep it legal' only not to discuss downloading. However some people cannot stop their knee jerk troll responses after being asked not to do something.

I havn't been asked not so. However here I can explain the situation without inflamming people to debate the nature of downloading, webhosts and the meaning of life because no one deep down gives a shit ;)

That's bullshit. Nowhere was it said that you can't discuss legal downloading. Cass says no discussion of ILLEGAL downloading which I didn't.
 
OK, so now they unbanned me only I can't see or respond to any threads. Which means I'm still banned but I have all the joy of being able to log in and out whenever I want.

By the way....

I also hereby demand that the following people have their accounts locked for violating whatever rule I did...

Almost, MM. They actually talk behind our backs or so they think. One did me in their "private lounge", not realizing it would show up on my negative rep counter.
 
Spaceturkey, in all his pot-smoking glory, seems to be waving the warn-stick around like nobody's business.

This follows some other incidents where the mods in general have been more nazi than normal.

Just take a look at the front page of the Help Desk.

Yeah, I don't know what's gotten into Spaceturkey. He used to be the anti establishment mod, and was basically hands off. Now he's taken a 180. It seems the agenda-less mod has gotten an agenda.
