Smoked lots of pot in San Francisco and saw about eight old friends, then left on midnight Monday, was driving until like an hour ago to get into Tacoma. I pulled over on the side of the road and took two three hour naps.
 
Yes, I headed to Tacoma after SF. I made it here after only 28 hours of driving with two short roadside naps in the car.

Actually.... no. Although I usually just eat on base for lunch.


You going to be near Kirkland, WA on the 28th? Some WFs and maybe a couple TKers (Gonad, I think said he was down, someone else I'm not sure) are meeting up at Danny's.
 
Oh. And you need to go to the Steilacoom deli. It's about the only decent place I've found in the area.

Oh well, I was going to say that if you were into sports the Stielacoom Deli and Pub was the favorite hangout of Pat Tillman when he was at Batt. Really cool atmosphere and considering it's size, a fucking kickass beer selection. I'd say 20 on tap, and ~70 in bottles. Not bad considering the bar itself seats a whopping total of 4.
 
Some other local places I'd recommend: AA Meats in Lakewood (great selection of exotic meats you won't find anywhere else), Johnny's Seafood Market (lots of fresh fish, cool atmosphere), H&L Market (just across from Johnny's, they've got food that most markets can't match).

Nope. I have really not spent any time in Tacoma or the area. In the two months I was here before I went over, I didn't have a car, and I went to Seattle every weekend. While in Iraq I met Anne, now wife, and so when I got back and got my car up here, I was driving to Bellevue everyday. The Deli is the only place I really go if I leave post.

There's been no set time or guest list, but I'll be there early afternoon, b/c unless it's snowing, I'll have to be down at Ft. Lewis at 0545 Monday morning.

You'll recognize the WFers by the way they clump together and move as a flock - and the smell of cabbage and scared young alter-boys.
