Westworld

Just recently watched this movie for the first time. I look forward to seeing what HBO does with this remake.

I know in the film your guns couldn't shoot other humans, but what is to stop you accidentally scalping on of the other guests?

A scary voice saying "please don't scalp other guests" that plays any time you're about to scalp another guest?

REMEMBER this starts tonight if you're American. I was going to say "I'll watch it tomorrow" but Sky aren't showing it until Tuesday for some reason so I guess I'll watch it then (I want to watch it on tv rather than download.)

Just watched it.

No spoilers, but, wow.

So far, so good. And, the previews for the upcoming episodes look very promising. I don't think you'll be disappointed Wacky.

And, the preview for the upcoming series called the Young Pope starring Jude Law looks intriguing as well.

Very slick first episode. Not quite sure what to make of it so far as it's difficult to see where they're going with it beside there being a robot uprising. But some good acting and the usual HBO fun of gore and nudity.

I particularly like the new spin on the Gunslinger
i think hes a possibly psychotic human, a sabetour maybe?
I wonder what his overall role will be. The premiere told alot without revealing much of anything, which I liked. Excellent setup. I have high hopes. HBO rarely let's me down.

Couldn't hurt, but probably not necessary. The show appears to be a slightly tweaked, longer version of the movie. With some of the concepts being further explored. It's an enjoyable movie. The show may tie into the movie instead of just being a reboot. A line from the first episode may have hinted to that.

I liked it! Evan Rachel Wood is a very convincing robot.

I liked how Anthony Hopkins keeps all his old robots in the basement to go and talk to them.

I was expecting more?

This was less the westworld film, and more dollhouse meets groundhog day.

I thought it was awesome.

I never saw the movie so I didn't know what to expect.

They are releasing the next episode today because there's a presidential debate Sunday night. On HBO Go, HBO Now, and HBO on demand. Probably won't be long till it's on OTHER PLACES.

Episode 2 was really good.

SPOILERYNESS

The whole deeper level thing is so weird. Just can't imagine where it's going. Maybe everyone's a frakkin Cylon.

I love how they reference the experience of playing existing MMOs and other games. Don't talk to that old guy, he'll just give you a quest. Explore first, then go back to the NPCs when you're ready. And the thing Anthony Hopkins said about how players want to find details recreated that they thought no one else had ever noticed. Very true for games and books.

I wonder if they always intended to show the two newbies entering the game in the second episode, or if there was some kind of rearrangement of scenes later on. It felt like that was supposed to be our first introduction to Westworld, but at some point things were changed.
