Where is the Random Thread of Randomness stuff that doesn't belong in other threads thread?

Did you know Sheryl Crow did a cover?

The early '90s was truly a golden age for tribute cover albums. "If I Were a Carpenter," "Saturday Mornings"--covers of Saturday morning cartoon theme songs, there was even a KISS one. I don't have that one and didn't think it was that amazing but the Garth Brooks' cover of "Hard Luck Woman" is pretty darned good.

That trend started in the late 80s with Hal Willner's tribute albums to Disney and Kurt Weill.

Watching PBS(!) last week. Piece on Kentucky musicians. Learned that this was a thing:

I feel like health/medical articles are written as practical jokes on me. You know, the kind where you string someone along with more and more absurd stuff to see how far you can take it before they realize they've been pranked. A few years back I learned I have chronic heartburn/reflux. Article today on it, its problems, and steps you can take to combat it: Don't eat 3 hours before bed. Check. I can do that. Cut back on alcohol. Working on it. Don't know if I can cut out a cocktail at bedtime, but I'm working on it. Don't load up on water late at night. Drinking herbal tea is one of the ways I'm cutting back on alcohol but noted. Consider foods like: avocado, spinach, pumpkin sees, chia seeds, almonds, quinoa and/or a magnesium supplement. :/ Huh. I guess. Oh, and by the way, lay off: chocolate, spicy foods, garlic, onions, sugar, packaged foods... :/ Well, I guess I'm going to get esophagus cancer.

Really, the George Reeves Superman is probably the most accurate depiction. If you get your strength from the yellow sun you probably wouldn't have all those muscles, you'd just be a regular guy with a regular bod that happens to be strong and nigh-invulnerable and able to fly, etc. Unless the yellow sun actually grows the muscles.

I watched a bunch of the old Adventures of Superman episodes last year. They are a lot of fun. Shame what a tragic end his life had.

So, if Fundies ask you "WWJD... What would Jesus do?" Just keep in mind that flipping cash registers and bull-whipping Jews is a solid option.

It's the last train to Auschwitz
And I'll beat you at the station...

I named my current dog Starbuck for various reasons I think I've mentioned before, so when I got the cat I named him Baltar, but I probably should've named him Apollo. Because he likes to go out at twilight and sometimes he doesn't come back and I've lost track of the number of times I've let Starbuck out, saying "grab your gun and bring in the cat" and a few minutes later I'll hear a bark at the door and she's there with the cat.

Did you know they've got this website for if there's a song and you don't know the name, you can turn on your microphone and hum a bit of the song and then it will tell you it doesn't know the name of the song?

My pets are weird: The latest chapter. This year my 3 year old cat discovered "making biscuits." HOW!? How, after 3 years, does he suddenly go "HOLY SHIT! THIS IS AMAZING!"?

And then it has a snippet of your voice to feed into AI! Brilliant!
