Where is the Random Thread of Randomness stuff that doesn't belong in other threads thread?

I can't talk about mowers. One summer between semesters in college, I was doing landscaping for the local Park & Rec. I was mowing a big patch of grass on an island between two roads, and when I reached a corner of the triangle, the mower kicked up from the lack of flat grass under it, and then it came down on my big toe. I had to be rushed to a doctor and have it bandaged up; the nail was mostly a goner.

As if that wasn't enough, at the time, I was also starring in a community theater production of Babes In Arms, which involves a lot of dancing and comic movement. I had to do the last weekend of the show with a cane, and rethink all my stage movement on the fly since I could no longer dance in place in each number.

Mow? NO!

My grandpa had one of those and he let me mow with it sometimes. Now I have a zero turn, and I ain't never going back. I have two acres to mow, and the side of the road. That's my excuse and I am sticking to it.
I have an acre and I use a push mower with a 21" deck. My excuse is that I'm crazy. And cheap. And still young enough to be able to do it. Just barely.

When I was in high school, they did "Harvey" one year and the guy played the lead, the Jimmy Stewart character, broke his leg and had to do the show in a huge cast. The next year they cast understudies for every single role.

There should be a word for what, for lack of a word, I am going to call "Crock Pot gap." This is the time from when you put something in your Crock Pot and, after a few hours, your whole house smells amazing, but you've still got to wait at least another 6-8 hours before its done.

Premature snack elation

I have a walk behind mower, but I only use it for places I can't get the big mower. It's too hot for that bullshit!

I have a corded electric mower to do a roughly quarter-acre lot. Managing the cord is a PITA but otherwise it's fine.

I have things I should be doing today. But they're people things and I've already used up my capacity for dealing with people for the day.

So. Windows 11 Solitaire. To recap, when I started playing it, I had better than a 21% win ratio. I'd go online for updates so it would stop nagging me to get new card faces and other cool features (if you play offline it works like traditional MS Solitaire and doesn't force ads etc on you). I'd let the game put the cards where I wanted them to go and use the "Complete" button when I'd won the game. And I started losing. Win ratio got down to around 20.2%--and still dropping. So I stopped letting the computer play any cards; I'd physically drag every card to here I wanted it to be and once I'd won I'd still drag all the cards up to their final stacks. I also wouldn't let it update anymore.

Obviously there's no scientific way to test this but since I stopped letting the program do anything itself my win rate has worked its way back to 20.75%--and still climbing. I feel like letting the computer do anything for you gives it input to make the games harder so you can't win while denying it as much feedback as you can keeps the game random and gives you a better chance of winning.
