Where is the Random Thread of Randomness stuff that doesn't belong in other threads thread?

I went back and asked if I could have one of the bricks, if I can't keep my old home I can at least keep a bit of it.

Was Walt Disney a sadist? Animating a dog would kind of suck. Animating a Dalmatian, with all its spots, would really suck, right? I know! Let's do an animated movie with 101 Dalmatians!

Paint the brick to look like the building.

Probably the same people who can't tell the difference between a bird, plane, and Superman.

HOW HAS NO ONE DONE THE ICONIC FARRAH FAWCETT POSTER WITH MISS PIGGY!?

MILF should be all capitals right? I saw it lower case and it just looked wrong.

When I see MILF, I sometimes read it as MLK. Then I start thinking of MLK's sexy mama and that seems wrong.

Some smart guy with too much time on his hands made this end credit sequence for the latest Dune movie, but styled it based on the 1984 David Lynch version of Dune. I've always loved Lynch's end credits for that movie, and this looks great. Watching it, I'm reminded that the ONLY bad casting in the latest version was Zendaya; all others were well casted. Even Christopher Walken as the Padishah Emperor was good but had room for improvement if he were given more screen time and better costuming.

The movie "M*A*S*H" is so much better than what the TV series quickly became.

They are different animals. They both started out as darkly comic satires in the era of the Vietnam War, but we pulled out of Vietnam while the TV show was still running, which is when it became more generically humanist and melodramatic in its later seasons.

Tina Fey is brilliant. She's currently starring and is co-creator of the Netflix TV remake of Alan Alda's The Four Seasons, and before that, she also cast Alda in several episodes of 30 Rock as Jack Donaghey's estranged father. In the episode "Kidney Now!" (possibly my favorite of them all), Alda returns to tell Jack that he is ill and needs a kidney transplant from a compatible donor. Instead of offering his kidney, Jack arranges for a "We Are The World" type musical plea for a kidney (resulting in an endless stream of celebrity rock cameos).

In the episode, Tina also slips in one joke that took some viewers YEARS to catch up with (I spotted it right off being obsessed with MASH and especially its epic movie-length finale episode)...

I love M*A*S*H, all of it. The very latter years of the show got a little preachy for my taste and had kind of worn out its welcome after 11 years, but I don't think there were many actual duds in there and it's all still enjoyable to watch decades later. Interesting to watch the show and characters evolve over the seasons.

I remember the night the series finale aired and then the local CBS affiliate showing it did their half hour news thing afterward, and then aired the movie UNCUT after that. It was a pretty huge deal back in February 1983.

The MASH finale still holds the record for the most-watched US TV show ever. 106 million* people tuned in the night it aired. No other scripted TV show has come close, and since TV is so much more fragmented now (and measured differently), no TV show ever will. Only live "events" like Super Bowls or the Moon landing have had bigger audiences.

*106 million watched the whole 2-1/2 hour show. 125 million people tuned in for all or part of it. That's like two-thirds of the country at the time.

Thought it was 3, but 4, possibly 5 four leaf clovers, found on this morning's dog walk: (there's one top center that is pretty beat up and may not be 4 leaves)
