It feels akward whenever he brings his real life into SNL's weekend update. I like it a little, but really I don't. And then Ariana debuts her new song titled, "Thank U, Next" just 2 hours before SNL goes on.

Poor guy.

I just saw his cringey joke about Dan Crenshaw who lost his eye in war. Ick.

I mean on one hand I know people can laugh at themselves, on the other hand..........

But on one hand look at the president who laughs at people's appearances all the time.....

But we or SNL isn't trying to be like the president!

Yeah the Crenshaw joke was cringey but he saved it by making fun of his own appearance at the end.
 
But he gave fodder to all of the rights to say that the left is mean!
 
If it wasn't him it would have been someone else the next day -- for totalitarian fascists, the right sure are the real snowflakes. Especially their thin-skinned clown prince Hair Hitler.
 
It got so I turned off SNL after Norm MacDonald's Weekend Update. Then it got so bad that I'd skip the opening too and just tune in in time for the Weekend Update. Then Norm MacDonald left the show and I haven't watched more than a few seconds since.

The silver age of SNL was when you had Phil Hartman, Victoria Jackson, Dana Carvey, Dennis Miller, Jon Lovitz... Eventually, like everything else, they decided to be blatantly partisan and alienate half their audience. How's that working out? I think "Rolling Stone" is around 25 pages these days. And they still have to staple a pork chop into it to get even the family dog interested in it.

I am a die hard SNL fan. I will watch them through thick and thin.
 
SNL Snobs annoy me. SNL was always better during a certain time period they say.
 
Anyway, now Sean Spicer is calling for the resignation of not Pete Davidson-but Lorne Michaels!

That is fucking ridiculous!
 
Dan Crenshaw does not demand an apology.
I want this thread to go away or be re-titled to: Pete Davidson: SNL.
 
Sean Spicer... he's lucky anyone takes his calls. He became a national joke thanks to his insane boss.

Pete Davidson is a comic. First amendment. It was in bad taste but you don't prosecute taste, even though Trump and his weasels keep trying to.

I have no idea what Sean Spicer is. Or Pete Davidson. I think he played Dr. Who in the 80s.

Fuck it, I'm not going to take that bait.

As for SNL, it's been ignorably unfunny, arguably, since 2008, taking a hiatus not only from political satire but from humor in general. Come to your own conclusions about the timing. When it tried again in 2016, it had entirely lost the knack for political satire or lampooning and gone straight to demagoguery, of which this Pete Davison bit was only the latest clumsy, amateurish attempt in an almost two year long losing streak of them.
