Unluckiest Charm in the Box
I passed the test, and now I must take a Two Day class in Motorcycle Riding school to get my Motorcycle License. Classes start this month!

:techman:

Yeah but then technically it's not him who kills himself, but those shitty drivers. It's murder, not suicide. :P

If I had the money, this would DEFINITELY be my next bike

Heres a Description

1986(?) Chang Jiang CJ750 M1M

The Chang Jiang CJ750 is a Chinese copy of the Russian M72 which is, in turn, a copy of the BMW R71. This one has a New Hampshire registration that lists it as a 1946 EMW M72. This is clearly not correct, but it is a valid document with the correct VIN on it. In New Hampshire, vehicles that are older than ten years are not issued titles, and ownership is transferred via the registration. So, you can title it but it would be titled as a 1946 EMW M72, not a 198? Chang Jiang M1M. I do not know exactly what year this one is, but 1986 is the year that 12 volt electrics, electric starters and reverse gears were introduced to the model, and this one has all three. The odometer shows 301 miles. Judging by the condition of the bike, that is probably correct. It is in excellent shape and it runs and rides great. It shifts through all the gears smoothly. Reverse gear is working.

They don't come any cooler than this!

What is it with you and Chinese made bikes?

Ok, let's get this straight: Chinese motor-products = Crap. Plus it's a 50+ year old design, VERY heavy, and not built for touring or modern roads in the first place, it was a military courier bike.

Hey, your money, your choice, but I think it's a very poor choice to waste time/energy lusting over.

If you must, buy one of these instead:

lol, its a Trabant or Wartburg, I can never distinguish between the two. Both of them were built in the GDR back in the day, and people waited 10 to 20 years to get one of those. There are a few of them still running, but after the wall came down, most people's first action was to get a bank loan and buy themselves new cars. (Which a lot of them killed themselves with since they weren't used to cars going 140 km/h and more)

Well, for a "toy" bike, I'd want one of These:

Looks like an old English "Caffe' racer", with Honda reliability.

jack: is that the 750?

No, the GB 500. Dry weight under 400 lbs and an un-breakable motor.

I know I was beating on "thumpers" a few weeks ago, but this is a special case (and I've been riding for 25+ years).

Cheers! :)

Hey, I had motorcycle classes (and passed the test) on a GB 500!! Oh, fond memories...

As for my all-time (devastatingly unobtainable) toy bike:

Ducati SS900 Chiara. Sigh.
