And the saddest thing of all was the Captain of the French team not even being allowed to accept his silver medal and make his farewells to his fans after an amazing turn-around tourney, a brilliant and lauded career

From a totally outsiders prospective, his name does rhyme with insane.
 
Zedawn is how you pronounce it. Insane does not rhyme.
 
I am thirding the WTF - utter madness.
 
And yet he still somehow gets named player of the tourneyment.
 
Apparently voting on who would be 'player of the tournament' was completed at halftime. Therefore once he had his headbutting episode, it was too late for people to change their votes.
 
So he could have actually pulled an Uzi and blow away half the stadium and still get player of the tourniment?
 
Anyone know what Materazzi actually said? I've searched every news source know.....I even picked up a copy of the Sun!
