Black Sails

SO MANY SWORD FIGHTS.

I was sad that Joji the samurai pirate died. He's been in it since the start and while he never actually said anything he always looked cool with his sword. But Flint is unstoppable.

So I guess Woodes is going to leave Flint, Silver and Hands to die on the island but Jack will arrive to save them and then we'll get a sea battle betwen his ship and the English and Woodes will die and Flint will either die or RETIRE TO SECRET THOMAS ISLAND. Should be a good last ever episode!

Flint and Samurai guy's sword fight was intense.

Final episode: Flint and Silver build a hut on Skeleton Island and live happily ever after.

The music this episode was extra good.

WELL, it's over. And they actually did the Thomas thing! Even though it was foreshadowed a bit earlier in the season I had my doubts but the only other way to end Flint's story would have been to kill him and they went for the happy ending! In fact there was surprisingly little death in the whole episode.

Flint and Billy fighting on the sail was pretty epic. Billy's lucky he had plot armour!

It was nice that they even remembered to show that Eleanor's friend got home to her children and Featherstone ended up as the new governor (and Idelle was there!)

Jack is good at giving rambling speeches!

The girl disguised as a boy at the end (which was really obvious and surely Jack and Anne would notice) was a real life pirate who had adventures with them! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Read

IT WAS A GOOD SERIES I WONDER IF ANYONE ELSE LIKED IT.

I wonder if that was Captain Morgan at the beginning! No, probably not. Henry Morgan was a powerful pirate and wouldn't be running errands for Silver.

FLINT AND SILVER BREAK UP! FLINT AND THOMAS TOGETHER AGAIN! That was actually pretty sweet, but I wonder does Flint have to live there on the prison farm or do they escape and build a cabin in the woods somewhere AND LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

Yay, Jack and Anne get to be pirates awhile longer.

OF COURSE people on the internet are already saying Silver was lying to Madi and he actually killed Flint and told her the story she wanted to hear. But why would they have put that scene in at the start then.

Yeah, that's not a good theory. They mentioned that prison plantation a few episodes ago. There's no reason to trick the audience and Madi.

And we saw Israel Hands going to the prison with Flint...would be a weird fantasy to include that creepy fuck.

I read Treasure Island. It doesn't really line up with the show! Flint gives Billy Bones the treasure map on his deathbed. Flint would never do that! I wouldn't really advise reading it because some of it's hard to follow with the old timey language and nautical terms. Plus John Silver is the only good character. He's fun charming people and switching sides all the time. The ending is quite anti-climactic with the heroes (and John Silver) sailing away from the island with some of the treasure. Silver goes off to be with his "negress" wife and it just kind of ends. They'd have to make some serious changes if they adapted it for tv. (There's a pirate named "Tom Morgan" in it so I guess that's who the guy in the show was.)
