She told portions of stories he told only her on the phone...that is private information. If he wanted to tell those stories he'd do it himself. He never told her she could discuss anything he discussed with her on the phone on the board.

So were GE and her just kicked because CM put up personal info or were they given a one way ticket to polarslam's island of the permabanned because she posted info that could endanger Elwood? If it's the former I wish that El could be a bit more honest with the board instead of making it seem as if his life might be at stake if Cheeky and GE were allowed to go on posting their stories.

She made threats and then she carried them out knowing damn well she would be banned for it. I believe Elwood because I have seen enough evidence through the years as well as him giving me no reason to doubt him about being a cop.

Cheeky never said that he wasn't, just that he hasn't been one as long as he says that he has. I don't know if it's true or not but it seems IMO to be specific enough and plausible enough (I don't think it'd be that hard for someone with a lifelong LEO in the family to pull off a pretend act online) not to be dismissed off-hand.

And even if CM believes everyword of what she says, it's even more damning as that would most certainly be private information.

But it's not life threatening dangerous like for some reason Elwood wants to assert, and if CM was going to post something like that then surely she'd do so on here.

Borgs and Cassandra...LOL. Cassandra banned Joker for daring to Google her and she did the same exact thing as this with Dat (Bastian to you folks)and Calli. Borgs wanted to ban Baba for being Baba. You mean those glory days? :lol:

Cass might've had her occasional crazy times and even though if she were still in charge she might occasionally ban me for being a "genocidal fascist" I still think that overall the board ran much smoother with her in charge. She was for the most part honest when going loony and deciding to kick people and she showed a MUCH thicker skin when aspects of her RL (like her knack of vacationing in areas where disaster struck and her "brother") were questioned.

As for Borgs he did keep Polar around when pretty much any other admin outside of missmanners would've kicked him out and changed the proverbial locks after the first ban so that counts for something, he seemed to run the board with more of a hands-off policy IMO and when he did start to make the big mistakes the staff staged a coup, something which I doubt would happen now even if Elwood decided to TrekBBSify the rules.

At least Elwood has good reason to want her off his board...look at this crap. She's bat-shit crazy and GoldenEye stated he only wants to come back to WF to clear her name. GoldenEye from what I was told did not just log off and leave, he was banned off. A kind of ban that doesn't show up in the regular chat room so it just looks like he logged off. I dunno, Listkeeper would have to explain it, that stuff is Greek to me.

If being bat-shit were a bannable offense then the board membership numbers would drop below Torrentforge levels. What Cheeky did initially was a bannable offense but I just don't get why Elwood and the staff have to shovel so much shit on her and GoldenEye to try to twist it and them into something worse.

Yeah, I'd have banned Cheeky Monkey myself in a similar situation (although I'd have never gotten myself into a similar situation.)

But the Goldeneye ban still smacks of petty vindictiveness. And I know that's one of Elwood's faults. In the small amount I've dealt with him, I can probably reel of at least 3-4 instances where he didn't get his way, or he made the wrong call and he dug in his heels and engaged in a scorched Earth policy against his Foes.

Hey, the man's human. We're all human. If I took it upon myself to run a BBS, y'all could bitch about my faults I'm sure, but at present it ain't my faults that are causing people to look around for another board to post at.

I just wanted to add that for my gripes on the whole Elwood's treated me pretty well. Although to this day he has never apologized to me on the small handful of occasions where he was off-base. :shrug:

Free speech goes hand in hand with personal responsibility, and double-posting is not frowned upon here.
 
Under normal circumstances I'd be all over this like a tick on bad dog's ear ( I said EAR you preverts. :D).

Now this is what I know to be true. When someone "owns" a board, they also agree to be legally responsible. That in it's self goes beyond "It's my board, I can do what I want", that means talking to the FBI and needing to hire lawyers and all kinds of unpleasant things.

Sometimes a board owner needs to do things to protect him/herself and those things can't be discussed in an open forum. The board owner doesn't have the luxery of "hiding" behind a cool username and a proxy.

And thats probably all I'd better say about that.

I can understand the need for a board owner to do things privately to protect himself (which is why I've been okay with the White Room mess being handled behind the scenes) but it has never really looked like Cheeky's wanted to do anything else besides embarrass Elwood infront of his online family. If she was going to spill some potentially RL damaging dirt then surely she would've done so here. If her story about a random southern cop from a random southern state who told lies about his resume to online friends is the RL damaging thing El needs to protect himself from then why wasn't the Flashlight tossed for threatening to basically turn him in for the porn forum? That threat made Cheeky's thread look like a schoolyard taunt.

As for Goldeneye did a desire to clarify Cheeky's accusation the lack of cop experience really warrent a permabanning for El's protection? The accusation really wasn't private anymore after her Blue Room thread and her post over here. If the staff wanted to prevent the possibility of GE letting her use his account to get on the board couldn't he of been warned first? If Astaroth was given multiple chances to stop his loony (and banned IIRC) GF from posting on his account before being temporarily tossed why couldn't GE get even one shot?

I might be biased because my low opinion of staff members like Elwood and The Neroonkeeper after things like the Hood incident and the martial law nonsense has led me to believe little of what they say but I just think that Cheeky and GE didn't deserve this. A banning for Cheeky because she broke one of the board's big rules was understandable but this seemingly undying effort of El and the staff to drag those two through the dirt just REEKS of something nasty. In the end it's Elwood's board and he can do what he wants but that doesn't mean I have to blindly accept what the "sages" from Area 51 have to say about those two.

Whose talking about them at all from the Staff unless someone else brings them up?

It's Elwood's board, he pays the bills and who he wants there and who he doesn't regardless of reason is his business.

My personal opinion is Cheeky got what she deserved and GoldenEye initially got a raw deal, but later earned his invitation to the world by continuing to push Elwood over PM even when he let him come back to chat to share in the chat where people were commiserating over Techman's passing.

Elwood asked him to wait because it wasn't the time and he continued to push. So he ended up banned from chat as well.

There is no right to be a member of a BBS and playing fast and loose with the personal details of the owner is a pretty good way to get booted.

What RL details though?
I've read CM's post, and I don's see any. She aludes to things...but that's all she does. So where is the big breach?
As for GE, what does what he does in chat have to do with him being banned on the board?
Now if Elwood has gotten rid of them just because he's uncomfortable, he needs to admit that and take his lumps.
 
And if any kind of attack on Elwoods RL is now bannable, why is Red...er...Flashlight still posting on the board after this?

Glad to hear it bitch. My first call tomorrow morning will be to the Alabama Attorney General's Office to report a web site that is supplying underage children with pornography without employing the proper safeguards. If what Volpone did was inappropriate, then what Elwood is doing is equally inappropriate, if not more so.

How many people here have posted pics of the Fleshlight sextoy for the poor, innocent eyes of the underage child to view? Each and every one of you is guilty.
